Just a couple of quick questions. Firstly how does this incorporate with the nativ emultitasking of ios4? What happens to the ipod controls? Also have people noticed any system lag?

i notice if you are playing pandora and hit the X to close it the app will go off the screen but music will still play.. so hitting the X doesnt exactly terminate the application.

It works fine with native MT. You can change this activator by either changing the way to pull up multifl0w or Apple stock task bar. No noticeable system lag.

This app doesn't replace the native task bar so I don't know why they had activator map controls that way. I find that if I leave it sitting in standby for a while it will show 'No backgrounded app' . It seems that it only shows previews of recently backgrounded apps and 'closing' them just removes preview of it from the interface.

So could someone specify the real purpose of this app if ^^^^ is true?

I also notice the same thing. When you click X it doesn't terminate the app. You can open sbsetting under process and it'll show up still running. Is that a glitch?

i have never seen why so many people complain about the native multitasking, but I had a go of this and can see its how apple should have done it. Its bloody brilliant!

Just got it, first glance it's great. But what's with all the open space when you have a bunch of apps open. The screens are so small you have to look for what your looking for, it does not just pop out at you. Overall its much faster but the window sizes need to be made min bigger, also the option to use icons like apple does would be great!

I've requested that plus the option to coverflow the previews. From what I've gathered the app was once a coverflow type interface that got changed to the exposé style.

From their website: Link

"Why did you change it to Exposé? I want my cards back!

The cards style interface worked well, but there was still room for improvement. To switch to a new app in a cards style interface, 3 things needed to be done: Open, then swipe, then tap. Why not make it faster and have all of the open apps visible at the same time? In an Exposé interface, 2 actions can switch apps: Open, then tap. This makes more sense; all apps are visible at the same time, and it only takes one tap to switch to another app. Thus, the Exposé-like interface was created. On Mac OSX, Exposé has been extremely useful and popular, and I believe people will find it useful on iOS devices also."

So it was too much trouble or too time consuming to swipe and find the app your looking for but it's just as hard to try to figure out what each of the little previews are for.

Aaron Ash replied to my email to support about crashing the phone when you background too many apps. Here's what he said.

It could be that your phone is just running out of memory. Unfortunately, I can't change the hardware of your phone :(

So, if multifl0w goes to background an app and there isn't enough memory instead of simply not backgrounding the app, the only other choice is to crash the phone? How elegant.

That's the thing, I don't believe that the app actually handles MT at all. Even if it did multi-task from within the app, that's a bad idea. It should be nothing more than a pretty interface to access Apple's native multitasking.

MultiFl0w seems to use up too much RAM because its keeping apps in the Multi Task switcher even after u close them, and im also noticing more battery usage

The app doesn't work that great when you have more than 9 apps in memory. I wish the most recently used apps would be in the 9 apps shown.

3gs & ipad 2 little ram

he basically said in twitter to someone that if you own a 3gs or ipad then the program is not the best for them; since they have 2 little memory to handle multif0w without crashes, for my 3GS it was consuming ram and I really like to open more than 2 pages on safari and if I left running multifl0w it would make me have around 20-30 MB of ram only and for me that is unacceptable thus the removal of said app even though is mad cool and back to 70-110 MB free!

I have an iPhone4 and multifl0w crashed on me. Whether you have 256 mb of ram or 512 mb, the program should not crash.

Also, what's unacceptable with only having 20 - 30 mb of free ram?

If that's all it is, then it ought to be free. What a waste of $4.99. Oh well, live and learn.

Indeed....some of these devs are really starting to put the hand in....I guess the JB community is sucker for anything 'hot'

Free?

You know that time is money and someone put a lot of time into that app and is likely to put more time into it moving forward. If they want to charge for it, that is up to them.

You certainly don't have to buy it. The app may have no value to you but you don't get determine if it should be free or not.

What is it with people these days? Always having you hand out and reacting with indignation when someone has the gall to charge a small fee.

those people are just ungrateful and take things for granted.

haha just tested proswitcher ...my phone ended up in safe mode respringing/booting did not help had to remove it.Meaby i will give this one try.

Not sure I can blame multiflow, but I had a 28% battery drain tonight while the phone was @ standby. Going to uninstall to see if multiflow is the culprit.

The amount of time someone puts into something is irrelevant to what it's worth. That's basic economics.

Nor did I ask for a handout. Try actually reading my post.

If multifl0w is nothing more than a pretty face on the Apple MT function it's not worth $4.99.

I couldn't care less what he charges for it, but it should be described accurately so people can make an informed buying decision.

The fact I can use dozens of apps and they all get put into the Apple MT display and if I use more than 9 then multifl0w crashes my phone that's simply poor coding.

Go use some other post to go off on an ill informed rant.

Same here, I went to bed with 70% and woke up 4 hours later with 32%. It was also pretty warm.

Both of those ar pretty unacceptable for me.

I agree with you. It seems a lot of people these days want everything for free or handed to them in a nice pretty box with a bow on top without having to work for it.

If you guys want something free, go ask the government, they seem to be doing handouts.
