I'm not surprised! Global internet utilisation was 113% above normal shortly after release! And is still 93% above normal! http://www.akamai.com/html/technology/dataviz1.html

So that means a little more than double normal internet utilization? (What's "normal"?)

Today it's been 86-88% when I've looked, do we ever get 0%? (or less?)

Any map that makes it look like Michigan is connected to Canada always makes me wonder about it's data (just kidding on that last part).

Lol.... What?

Installed ios 7 on my ipad3 and iPhone 4. Hated it. Safari was horrible, text too tiny & dont like not having the buttons. New music app is horrendous, smaller album art? Wtf happened to full scream gorgeous album covers? And it has a white background to blind you as you drive, oh and you can't shuffle genres . And was way too slow on iPhone 4. Rolled back to 6 on both devices

Font size is very close to the same, and did you not notice that you can change the font size? If you want to go back to a glitchy IOS, then 6 is clearly for you... Some people just can't handle changes, I think we've found one of them. Have some fun with the new upgrade, and quit stressing that it isn't exactly the same as IOS6 for pity's sake. I got stressed just reading your post. Yikes...

It's going to be amazing how many people will be on iOS 7 after the weekend.

There will be a few folks where the changes mess with something they really use/rely on...fortunately (at the moment) they can still roll their hardware back to 6.1.x. It's nice that Apple hasn't turned that option off and everyone can go where they need to go (hopefully Apple leaves that option open for a while).

This is going to be a record movement to the new OS though...when you think of the numbers involved - it's really something.

Will the issue with less battery life in iOS 7 become a bigger problem for folks? I wonder if people will claim the phone (especially the iPhone 5) isn't lasting the amount of time that was advertised when they originally purchased it. On one hand one could say 'it's your fault you got the new iOS', on the other hand people could say that a new Apple iOS shouldn't substantially decrease the battery life from what was originally advertised for their product.

I'm not seeing any difference. If anything it's better.

What??

What battery life issue? If anything, battery life is better with iOS7.

It's great people are seeing it. Ars put it on all versions of the iPhone, then did a full charge and ran it till the battery died. All the phones lost a little time (it was like 15-20 minutes out of a full charge), except for their iPhone 5 which lost more than an hour if memory serves (they did a reinstall just to make sure) - hopefully it was just their iPhone 5.

Frankly with all the changes and stuff I'd expect a little time taken off - Apple will polish and optimize it with future releases.

I haven't noticed anything. As weird as it sounds, it feels like my phone's battery has improved day by day. Almost as if iOS 7 has built in battery management, that adapts to your usage and location patterns. Try doing a clean restore.

Agree. Same with Mavericks on my ancient MacBook Pro.

Oh, and yeah, I did do a clean restore. That's how you install beta iOS releases.

It should be fine

Can anyone comment on how iOS 7 performs on iPad 3? I would like to upgrade, but I'm a bit afraid that it will get sluggish… (I still remember how I upgraded to iOS 4 on iPhone 3G and suffered…)

Edit: I just saw ValSalva already commented on that.

iOS 7 is fine on my iPad 2. So I'm guessing it should work well on your 3:)

Rushed, aka no attention to detail. Usually, it's not like apple to miss simple things, like centering a tab...

I noticed that as well. It's the little things they usually get right that make me appreciate the software. Granted, I haven't found a ton, but this stuck out.

Hey, I thought Europe was all done with iOS??? There must be something else going on there ...

I wouldn't be so sure about that, the iPad 3 isn't that much more powerful than the iPad 2 , yet it needs a lot more processing power to drive the retina display. In an extreme scenario I could easily imagine that it performs worse than the iPad 2  But let's hear those who have real experiences.

I haven't experienced less battery life. It seems to be a tad better actually. I was at 100% before leaving home this morning and now I'm at 58% mid day.

I noticed right away that the battery life on my iPad 3 was improved. iPhone 5 is at least unchanged.

No sluggishness at all, noticeably better battery life. I'd add more, but I have a cat demanding ear scratches.

Such as?
(Be specific. Why make this statement with absolutely no points)

Some people (well, in macrumors, quite a few) don't know better.

Hint: Executives are not known for issuing apology letters when things were done properly and there isn't an issue of some kind.

Clearly, you have no clue about what makes executives do what they do. Or people in general.

Proposal: Let's change the name of this site to MacBitchers because it seems like that's all that 90% of the posters can do anymore.

My favorites ones are those who complain about the endless stream of rumors when they are on a website titled "MacRumors.com".

I've been running it on my 2yo iPad 2 since early this morning, with no sluggishness and no glitches whatsoever. Granted, I haven't seen everything there is to see, and 4-5 hours can in no way be construed as a stress test. But still.

I like the new design, and the new animations. I don't miss skeumorphism at all.

In my opinion, Apple got it right. Again.

For awhile at least, anyone suffering faux stitched leather withdrawal, a visit to Find My Friends can give them their much needed fix.

i haven't dove in too deep yet but so far i love ios7 on my ipad4 and iphone5. it's so much cleaner within the apps. better organized. i'd love to make the opacity of the menu bar and folders less opaque. is that possible? i haven't dove in but if anyone knows how could they post it? so yes i think it is a great jump. i hope they refresh more often now. tweaks and a big jump every year.

I haven't done it myself, but I understand settings, general, accessibility can adjust the opacity.

It's nothing short of amazing that Apple was able to push 750+ MB of data down to roughly one-third of their installed, active iOS user base in 24 hours. I was frustrated with the multiple failed download attempts yesterday; but considering how much data it appears that they were pushing out, it's amazing that the servers held up as well as they did.

Oh, the irony; you tell me to be more specific, and then you make a comment like this.

Why would I have to be specific about that? Be more specific. I just made a statement that I (as well as many others) feel like iOS 7 was rushed.

I don't know why companies continue to brag about adoption rates when the software update is completely free.

Who wouldn't download an updated operating system for free? I know I would, even If it just means to try it out.

That's not the case for Android, which is free, and BlackBerry, which is free, and Microsoft Phone, which is also free.
