Hello, how is Tahoe 26.2 does it change album artwork / mismatch? Or it's running fine for local files? I have purchased music from bandcamp and would hate if Apple changed my custom album arts.

No need to ask thrice.
I didn't notice it changing something when not asked to, but it definitely lost the ability to download correct album cover. More often than not it gets something completely different than it should

The fix for me was to uncheck automatically update album artwork in Apple Music’s preferences. Had the same issue for years.

I have it unchecked already, I upload custom art work through MP3 tag so it won't affect my files when updating to newest macos?

I've done something like 40,000 songs from 2,100 albums. I've also made tons of playlists and the last thing I want an OS update or whatever is to screw the the metadata/album art. Here's what I do:

Go into the Music folder under your Home Folder. Copy the Music folder, which on my iMac is red, to an external drive. Go to this folder in your user Library "/Containers/com.apple.APMArtworkAgent/Data/Documents" and copy it to an external drive. Update, rebuild from scratch or whatever to your system. When finished delete the new "red" Music folder and copy the Music folder back from the external. Go into your Library and delete the container folder above and copy everything back from your external. Open the "red" Music folder. You should see three folder: Media, Music Library and Previous Libraries. If there's anything under Previous Libraries open it. Everything should be back to normal. And keep update album art off.

The only serious issue I have with the current versions of macOS and iOS is the artwork on my iPhone is a mess, but it's fine on my two iPads. To keep Apple from syncing from my iPhone back to my iMac and destroying my album art, go into Settings - Music on your iPhone. Make sure Sync Library, Automatic Downloads, Show Apple Music and Download Dolby Atmos are all OFF.

Good luck. The Music app really is crap.

No, it is fixed since weeks/months.
So if I update it won't cause me issues with artwork on songs being mismatched on iphone or music library on mac? Because on ios 26 plus the sequioa that I have it's all going fine (knocking on wood)

My old playlist have 4 album covers as their icon. Creating new ones, the symbol is three lines and music symbol. How do I get them to display 4 album covers like before ?

This is a feature that has not been available for some time. I think that doesn't work since 2 MacOS Versions.

Unfortunately, Apple is removing everything that was once good about the app.

I don't see the Music App listed in my list of Widgets on my end...
Bummer. I really wonder if they even have a team of people anymore working on the Music app, both on iOS or on the Mac. It feels like someone just comes in every couple months and breaks something while trying to add one minor feature and doesn't come back to do anything else ever.

I use one of Doug’s Scripts and save my album artwork. Then you can import that artwork into a generic playlist like you are showing.

The is not an Apple Music observation, but it fits in with things being talked about here. I have about 120 video clips that I've saved over the years from various sources and most are about five minutes or less. I like having them on my iPhone to either show someone or watch when I'm waiting on the doc or to get my car serviced.

The first problem is they all get saved to Home Videos. I'd rather have "Clips" or something like that, but I can live with Home Videos. But damn Apple took away the titles, and I cannot always remember which picture goes with a certain clip.

And even with shows I've bought from the iTunes Store show up goofy:

Why does the American House of Cards and the British House of Cards show up multiple times? Indian Summers has more than one season and it just shows up once.

Movies are not much better. The Beatles Love shows twice, which I guess is because one of them is the movie and the other are the extras, but you cannot tell from looking.

But there is zero reason to show Bye Bye Birdie twice. It just the movie. There are no extras.

And trying to find something on the iTunes Store is impossible. Once upon a time I bought quite a few movies and TV shows from the iTunes Store, then everything started streaming and I mostly quit buying. But there are a couple of TV shows that I started getting from iTunes, so I might as well finish the run--if I could find them! You can tell Apple doesn't give a damn about any of these programs. Makes me mad.

If you quit the app with main window on screen - it will remember it's size.
If you close the window and then quit the app - it will then launch with the default small window size.
This not remembering size & position has been annoying me since I got Tahoe on my Macbook Air. Every night I have scheduled shutdown (via Terminal, ever since Apple removed the simple scheduled sleep/shutdown option,) & Music (as itunes, not streaming) is the last App I'll have used. The next morning, Music never remembers the position when I start my Mac up, & also opens with the blank window. 🙁

I use a wonderful little app called Sleeve, although I’ve just visited their website to get you the link and it looks like it doesn’t work anymore when streaming, but for local files it works great, didn’t notice this issue as I’m a local files kinda guy 😛
