No idea what triggers it. I just does at some point. Doesn’t have to be after a restart either.Same. Not always, but often.
Same here. At least cover artwork is showing for all of my albums again. No idea what triggers it. I just does at some point. Doesn’t have to be after a restart either.
That pretty much sums-up the entire Music app from top-to-bottom....It is extremely irritating.
If you quit the app with main window on screen - it will remember it's size.No idea what triggers it. I just does at some point. Doesn’t have to be after a restart either.
Ah good to know. Not that we should. If you quit the app with main window on screen - it will remember it's size.
If you close the window and then quit the app - it will then launch with the default small window size.
Is this problem still going on?Still have this issue with Beta 2 of 26.2. Hope they will fix it quickly. Made a report to Apple when this issue occurred with Beta 1.
Does it change custom album arts and mismatch them or metadata?26.2 and Music is still a trash that full of random bugs 🤡 unbearable to use, especially for local libraries 🫤
The fix for me was to uncheck automatically update album artwork in Apple Music’s preferences. Had the same issue for years. No need to ask thrice.
I didn't notice it changing something when not asked to, but it definitely lost the ability to download correct album cover. More often than not it gets something completely different than it should
I have it unchecked already, I upload custom art work through MP3 tag so it won't affect my files when updating to newest macos? The fix for me was to uncheck automatically update album artwork in Apple Music’s preferences. Had the same issue for years.
I've done something like 40,000 songs from 2,100 albums. I've also made tons of playlists and the last thing I want an OS update or whatever is to screw the the metadata/album art. Here's what I do:I have it unchecked already, I upload custom art work through MP3 tag so it won't affect my files when updating to newest macos?

So if I update it won't cause me issues with artwork on songs being mismatched on iphone or music library on mac? Because on ios 26 plus the sequioa that I have it's all going fine (knocking on wood)No, it is fixed since weeks/months.
This is a feature that has not been available for some time. I think that doesn't work since 2 MacOS Versions. My old playlist have 4 album covers as their icon. Creating new ones, the symbol is three lines and music symbol. How do I get them to display 4 album covers like before ?
I don't see the Music App listed in my list of Widgets on my end...Can anyone confirm or deny if the Music app has a native Mac widget in Tahoe? They announced it was coming soon in Sonoma in 2023, then changed it from "Coming soon" to imply it was released, but it wasn't on Sonoma or Sequoia.

Bummer. I really wonder if they even have a team of people anymore working on the Music app, both on iOS or on the Mac. It feels like someone just comes in every couple months and breaks something while trying to add one minor feature and doesn't come back to do anything else ever.I don't see the Music App listed in my list of Widgets on my end...
I use one of Doug’s Scripts and save my album artwork. Then you can import that artwork into a generic playlist like you are showing. My old playlist have 4 album covers as their icon. How do you mean ? My album artwork is embedded in the tracks. Normally the playlist artwork is created automatically when the playlist is populated ?I use one of Doug’s Scripts and save my album artwork. Then you can import that artwork into a generic playlist like you are showing.
This not remembering size & position has been annoying me since I got Tahoe on my Macbook Air. Every night I have scheduled shutdown (via Terminal, ever since Apple removed the simple scheduled sleep/shutdown option,) & Music (as itunes, not streaming) is the last App I'll have used. The next morning, Music never remembers the position when I start my Mac up, & also opens with the blank window. 🙁If you quit the app with main window on screen - it will remember it's size.
If you close the window and then quit the app - it will then launch with the default small window size.
I use a wonderful little app called Sleeve, although I’ve just visited their website to get you the link and it looks like it doesn’t work anymore when streaming, but for local files it works great, didn’t notice this issue as I’m a local files kinda guy 😛Bummer.
