I love the look of the Camaro but would only get it with six speed 6.2 l...

I like mustang's too but again you need the v8...

I could never own v6, ... just couldn't do it... , its a muscle car ffs

I would never hear the end of it...

As some have suggested what wrong with mopar? Charger... challangers ...

Them challangers are slick looking

Have you consider Chrysler? I have a 300c and man I love the 5.7 hemi... its not the srt8 but these things are roomy in the cab and it got plenty of power... i got to be easy on it or the tires won't last a week roaring through every light ... only complaint is auto trans

Ya but those hemis have some go. My dads charger makes me smile everytime and it's glued to the road(partially cuz she's a little hefty...)

The Camaro was alway's the wannabe it never came close to the Mustangs sales figures and popularity, but the new incarnation is a force to reckoned with. I must admit I do prefer the Mustang though....Maybe just because you see more of them...Yep even here in the UK.

UGH! American "muscle cars" .. they SCREAM "I have no penis!"

So can European cars depending why the person buys it....... Is it because it is a good car that fits their wants and needs? Or is it because it is European and they buy it for the badge.......

Is the only reason you're in this thread to bash American cars?

How do you know when someone drives a BMW? they will tell you.

don't start the argument and be an adult. I lived in germany for 4 years, so compared to american cars its a whole different conversation. Smaller streets, different ways of driving in general, the autobahn... blah blah blah.

think about what you say before you make yourself out to be the tough guy saying your junk is bigger than someone who drives a real car.

mustang... but my vote is slightly skewed... I've owned a lot over the years.

302 Laguna Seca should be here later this year!!

And if the difference comes down to a V-6 camaro, vs GT mustang... no brainer. The v-6's on these cars are a joke, just let's people get into a "muscle car" for cheap, but in reality, they really diminish what these vehicles are about.

To those recommending the challenger... NO, it's so heavy, honestly sucks. Plus it's being replaced next year by the baracuda...

Though I must say, the turbo v6 in the new stang is somewhat acceptable making over 300 horses.

Both the regular 3.7 V6 in the Mustang and 3.6 liter V6 in the Camaro make over 300 HP.....

Driven a Mustang GT and a Camaro SS (both 2012) for weekends at a time and I'll say this:

Power delivery with Traction Control on - the Camaro wins, it doesn't seem to hold back, the Mustang felt like I had some crazy turbo lag which then gave me mediocre acceleration.
Power delivery with Traction Control off - the Camaro wins, feels a little more tail happy than the Mustang did.
Top Speed - I never tried on either, that great 55mph speed limit, but the Camaro felt better at overtaking.
The Camaro has some great technology included and the HUD is both a great idea and a great feature, as it keeps your eyes on the road and on your speed.
Looks are kind of a tie, they are both 60s styled and look very aggressive, but I think the Camaro pips it, in black or grey, it's kind of understated.

I drove the automatic versions of both, as the car rentals never really provide manual transmissions. If you are using the car for weekends and fun, then go for the V8. If you're commuting to work, I'd say get the V6 manual, it still has some good performance but will get you to work without you needing to buy gas too often.

I always reset the average MPG an make a note when I give the car back. The Mustang gave me 16, the Camaro 17. (sorry for the topic change) I also drove up to Vermont, once in a Nissan Altima and again in a 2011 Charger v6, and got 18MPG in the Altima and 26MPG in the Charger...

My friend is going to let me try his '01 Camaro though, so I can see if I like that, as I think that may be more in my price range for a couple of years yet...

a v6 muscle car shouldnt even be made. its for posers. take the best new mustang vs the best new camaro. the mustang will win without a boubt. why get a v6 camaro the the same price as a v8.fords is first on race day

Insurance, Insurance, Insurance. V8s are SUPER EXPENSIVE to insure.

If I'm looking for a Muscle car, I have to look at the V6 considering their surprising power these days and the auto insurance rates. I'm 25, they want my business.

I was a traditional Chevy guy until I reached the point that I considered American cars to be poorly made- I'm thinking primarily 1980's. However, I think the new Mustang is truer to the old, than the new Camaro is as compared to the old. However I also remember when the early 1980s Mustangs looked like a royal piece of crap. Still for today, I would find it a difficult choice if I had to choose between them. Hows that for a confused answer? :p

Everything I have read says the current iteration of the Camaro has terrible rear quarter visability. It's a sharp looking car, but it is something to pay attention to if you buy. FYI, I have a Mustang.

You learn to live with it. My car has really thick A-Pillars that limit visibility. I've learned to live with it and compensate for it.

In other words, you completely agree, but have figured out how to live with the design flaw?
