apple ( in the past ) have been known to put you in what i call "shipping Corals" meaning they put you in shipping waves and then when the dust settle, some in the later corals get pushed up to 2nd/3rd/4th waves..... so if you have a 4/24 -5/8 shipping date it almost means you'll get either on the 24th or within a 2-3 day window as they cannot control what happens when shipping company gets it... and if you got the 5/8-5/13 window you will be in the 2nd wave..... ect, ect....4/24-5/8 is the first wave...you are more likely to get either on the 24 or by the following monday....us that are in the 4/24 we are in wave number 1 when shipping starts..... keep in mind as we've all stated, APPLE WILL SET LATER DATES ONLY TO SHIP IT SOONER TO YOU:apple:

I'm more optimistic :D I'm in the 12/5-24/5 group, and think we'll get our watches in the beginning of May because Apple is conservative with their estimates.

Haha - probably not, but I still have hope!

Welp I'll guarantee you aren't going to get it in the beginning of March...

Many watches will deliver on 4/24, based on prior launches...we will know later this week as the watches start to move thru the china fed ex checkpoints.

This is the first launch they've ever had a "period" for the shipping, which makes me think they're still uncertain about production numbers for the initial run.

Others have disputed that prior launches didn't contain a delivery range at least initially.

I just checked all of my previous pre-order emails - none of them have a range. E.g. my 6+ one says:

"Delivery: 19/9 in most areas by Standard Shipping"

I can tell you--- most worried about delivery dates are going to be pleasantly surprised on the 24th. My wife works in the industry and stated deliveries will be on time and dates are not accurate reflecting. She stated most receiving dates in May will show up on April 24th.

Apple responded to one of the reviewers who pointed out software glitches, and said they'll be updated software installed on the Watches before they ship.

This seems to me to have caused a delay. Those Watches were supposed to be set up for boxes not set up to be connected to get new software.

I ordered my Watch 4 minutes in and will get it a Month late.

The whole day, they sold 1 million, which to Apple is nothing, and they should have zero problem getting 1 million delivered on April 24, but no, almost NOBODY will get it on release date.

So the simple fact is, the release date is a rolling release, it's delayed, and they simply didn't tell us. It's so late there's no saying when the stores will even get some. To tell us would simply start rampant rumors of defects and ruin a lofty launch.

Anyone who thinks Apple would intentionally be undersupplied and deny a sale to those who want it is, in the words of Steve Jobs when accused of this, "Are you nuts?"

They'll just make a day-one update. Done that before.. No need for reflashing the software.

My feeling - no-one will receive watch on release date

My "24/4 - 8/5" confirmation email arrived at 8:09 and if I remember rightly the :apple: store didn't go live until 8:02? I really hope it arrives on the 24th but I'm almost certain it will be towards the latter half of the 8/5 target date.

It went live at 2:01 Cst because my email confirmation was at 2:01...

Edit: Also mine that got through at 2:01 CST was a 42mm Space Grey Sport model.
I then went back in to order a second one in the 38mm Space Sport Grey and got Email confirmation at 2:02 CST. These were both via Apple Store app and apple pay.

I think the OP is wrong for one basic reason. Warehouses cost MONEY. If they are making them as fast as they need to do you really think they are going to store them for some unknown reason? They are probably going to get hundreds of thousands of our orders processed this week to the point that labels will be generated and ready to slap on the boxes.

They will hand these off to Fed Ex or whoever they use the first day they can. Fed Ex does not want to store them either. I just do not think they want to store 2 million watches when they can get them out. Another thought I had is that since there is to be NO in store pickup or Sales they COULD decide to let them even arrive early. Now THAT would get the medias attention. The only think that would make that difficult is if they need a software update to be ready before we get them.

I am, like op, a little weary of the 4/24-5/8 launch window. For the iPhone 6 plus pre-order, I was given a confirmation with a hard date of 6/21 (or whatever the launch date was) and I got my phone on said date.

I do think it's strange that for the watch, a hard date isn't given and instead we all got a window. That's never happened before with any pre-order. Apple hasn't been overly cautious before. I feel like just because a window of time was given there must be something weird going on with production that might delay quite a few orders.

I ordered the 42 mm space grey and got my confirmation at 3:02am EST and still had the 4/24-5/8 I am confident that people with that estimation will get them on launch day its what Apple always does they give ranges and this was the first one to be given to customers and 10 min after they went live they started getting pushed back this leads me to believe that people with the 4/24 window will be the first window of deliveries coming on the 24th.

1 million in the US. Not the world.

Respectfully disagree and believe that 4/24 will see a lot of happy people...

agreed....many will see them 4/24...apple is pulling no games here and we'll all see movement later this week withthe checkpoints in china.....

never been any different...but the conspiracies are fun to read!

If it was a date range of a few days, I could understand this. However, A range of 2 weeks indicates a greater degree of uncertainty from them.

I'm not doubting that they have a good amount of uncertainty and reliability on inventory and shipping. I'm just disagreeing in your statement that none will be delivered on the 24th.
