What concerns me is that the buyer has no feedback at all.

Buyer is asking me to ship USPS express mail international to the Philippines.

I'm excited...yet oh so nervous that I'm getting screwed somehow....

BTW..this is my wife's preorder...I refuse to sell mine :)

DO NOT SHIP ! i have seen this many many times , once its delivered after few days he will do a CHARGE BACK oh his credit card ! save your self from this right now!

Absolutely, no way, no how would I sell the phone to this guy. This REEKS of scam. I mean, really. Step back and look at what you said in your post:

"I couldn't believe it!"

This is a textbook case of "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".

The scammer knows how excited you'll get at the prospect of such a large sum of money and will ignore the nagging little voice in your head that says "don't do it!" You should listen to that little voice.

dont, just dont. Use common sense and logic. If one can buy 2 iphone 4's for that price, then why buy one?

Its a scam and hopefully you dont "take the risk" and think it isnt

My favorite part is that it's the wides phone. "sorry hinny, we got scammed and iPhones are on backorder December. Have you ever seen a 3G? You're in luck! I got one for you!"

Oh heck no! I have sold multiple high dollar items and would never ever ever not ever sell to anyone with 0 feedback. I never ever sell to anyone outside the US, not even Canada. I have never been screwed out of any $$, but I've had plenty of people "take off" after winning. I normally sell event tickets so there are not many people trying to screw the seller in that arena. I would have probably sold it on CL for cash - but only $20's - they are less likely to be counterfeit - money orders and cashier's checks are sometimes counterfeit as well. I am pretty sure you can cancel the sale and take the negative feedback. If you don't do a second chance offer to someone lower on the list that has good feedback and is in the US then you will still have to pay the ebay fees, which could be hundreds of dollars. Check your seller account.

that is funny, I went to Craig list and had a similar scam ran on my 32gb 3GS. The person lived in Hawaii and was sending it to her daughter in Nigeria. It also dealt with international shipping and a USPS international money order or something similar. Wonder if they are counter feting money orders or paying with fraudulent funds? there is a 95 percent chance that is a SCAM. I would not do it. Once they find out that it is Paypal will for sure put a hold on it and there is nothing you can do.

Your just a little off. That is 100% SCAM.

sorry to say but it's a scam. You could possibly still get the money though if you follow all of paypal's rules, ship to confirmed address only with signature confirmation, get it insured by fedex etc. I don't know though sounds risky to me?

It looks good to me. When you look at the paypal transaction, does it say "OK to ship"?

If it does, I would ship it with insurance. USPS requires a signature with insured items.

what horrible advise! you should get banned for this advise. weak

I loled at people saying you should be good.

Just refund the money and take this as a lesson.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm not going to ship it. I don't "need" the money, but who doesn't like the thought of having an extra grand?

I agree with all of you that say it's 90% scam. That's good enough for me.

Plus, if I don't sell it I will have someone to FaceTime with!:)

If you're going to call out someone's bad advice, spell the word correctly

OP:
Drop the price to something a sane person would pay, and relist it without international bids. There are plenty of Americans who are willing to pay a respectable price for an iPhone 4.

As someone who was dumb once and got scammed, DO NOT DO THIS SALE!!! Trust me it is not worth dealing with buyers outside of the states. You will get screwed and your wife will be pissed. Just cancel it, refund the money, and wash your hands of it.

I'll help you out paypal all the money he sent you to me and I will hold the money for you. :)

Seriously though I would listen to the other people on here. It's not worth it, you probably got the phone subsidized for 199 and if you sell to him you'll have to pay AT&T ETF which is 325 that's already 524 and if your wife decides she wants an iPhone 4 after all you'll have to buy a new one at probably the unsubsidized price so if you add it all up your profit on the 1750 isn't worth the risk.

OP, I hope you got the point.

But, after asking on the forum, after the very obvious markers to scam (I have sold all of two things on Ebay over the past 10 years and I can tell it's a scam), if you still send it to that buyer, I'm going to laugh at you cause I'll no longer feel sorry when you had plenty of warning.

It's like the lady who sent hundred's of thousands (ok, on a much smaller scale) to some scammer who kept getting her to send more even after her husband, her friends, and even the police told her it was just a scam (and it was a very typical "nigerian" scam).

I sold an Xbox 360 on Ebay when they first came out. The auction ended and the money was in my Paypal account in no time. It then was transferred to my bank account. At that time I shipped out the Xbox. A day or so later I was informed by Paypal that the account I received the money from was claimed as "stolen". They took the money back at that time. I went through a hassle getting the money back. In the end it turned out someone had their accounts (Ebay and Paypal) hacked. In essence the Xbox was stolen from me.

I will always be skeptical about selling anything of that caliber on Ebay.

and an xbox isnt even that expensive. I had the exact same thing happen with an 1800 dollar macbook pro.

definately too good to be true, i wouldnt trust it...trust your instinct.
too many oversea problems...wifey will kick your butt if she never gets a phone, cause i know i would!!!

Big time scam in about 30 days the credit card company would notify paypal and they would reverse the charges so you would be out the phone and the 1750 never ever sell overseas and when I sell gadgets I require a 100+ rating or Ill cancel the bid.

LOL. and you as the seller have 6 feedback. he is also warranted to be wary of this listing. remember, on ebay the buyer usually wins in these transactions-go-wrong situations, especially in paypal's eyes.

either way, good luck on not getting ripped off.
