It looks good to me. When you look at the paypal transaction, does it say "OK to ship"?

If it does, I would ship it with insurance. USPS requires a signature with insured items.

They don't do delivery confirmation with international deliveries. Don't talk about things you don't know about.

"If I could just take your bank account details and sort code, sir..."

:D

"I am not looking to rip you off on shipping"

How is charging $55 not ripping off shipping (at least domestic shipping)?

LOL. and you as the seller have 6 feedback. he is also warranted to be wary of this listing. remember, on ebay the buyer usually wins in these transactions-go-wrong situations, especially in paypal's eyes.

either way, good luck on not getting ripped off.

How does the buyer win? So I could just report the item received as not described but it really was the item?

Honestly, you never know these days. There have been a lot of horror stories later, especially as eBay has been shifting more and more to buyer rights and not seller rights.

He could claim you sent him a box with a bunch of rocks in it, take pictures of some rocks in your iPhone box, submit it as proof, etc.

I'm not saying this will happen, but when buyers pull crap like this, eBay frequently sides with them. I would go to a FedEx or UPS ship center and pack the phone in front of them, showing that it's sealed (or opened if you have done that). Have the person be a witness that you sent a legitimate package just in case. It really is worth the extra effort just to be safe.

This is exactly what I just did. My friend took video of me packing my 3gs, seeling it, and handing it over to the person at the post office.

Clearly some of you guys have never been screwed before. Take it from me, money makes people excited and do crazy things. I once had a high bid on a subsidized phone i was selling a few years back and was exact same situation: Int'l buyer, he wanted overnight shipping and willing to pay for it. Got the funds over the weekend, sent it, paypal reported the credit card used stolen and I got screwed.

Too many Red Flags dude!

Here is the link.

What concerns me is that the buyer has no feedback at all.

Buyer is asking me to ship USPS express mail international to the Philippines.

I'm excited...yet oh so nervous that I'm getting screwed somehow....

BTW..this is my wife's preorder...I refuse to sell mine :)

Whole thing looks bogus to me. Your sale, only 1 bid, new user/no feedback, you are a new poster, etc.

Since he paid thru Paypal... make him leave you some kind of Ebay feedback so Paypal will release the funds to you. If he is legit... he can do that for you.

Also... and these are the big ones, make sure on Paypal that he is a VERIFIED member and has a CONFIRMED MAILING ADDRESS. If not, back away from the deal.

Definitely reusing this image :D

Yeah, with the eBay sell... make sure to get his money and IMMEDIATELY deposit it to your bank account, then remove your account number just in case he decides to "not receive" your iPhone 4. Just a suggestion to protect yourself in terms of a large $ transaction on eBay.

Don't

No way I would ship it to him!! I have sold 3 iPhone's on ebay and have never been ripped off but I tell my bidders they must have 10 positive feedbacks with 0 negative to bid on my auctions. I have a 717 rating on ebay and have a 100% positive rating....take it from me...do not ship it to him!!!

Oh 1 more thing I always state I only ship to the USA ONLY!!

i think that paypal will still come after you for the money even if you remove your information

That's terrible advice. PayPal will find a way to get their money. They'll either keep a record of his account info if he removes it, or send a collection agency after him.

I like how he says Im not looking to rip you off on shipping......yet hes charging $55 to ship! LOL should only cost about $20 tops. Seller is pretty shady himself

Thank you! I thought the same thing! Who starts the bid at $1500 also? IMO that's a bit greedy.

Try Craigslist instead and only meet at a bank during daytime with a friend to bring along, this is how people get scammed on eBay because they can't look past the $1750 price.

I actually bought my OG iPhone from eBay for $349 + free shipping in Sep of 2007 when Apple cut the price for the first time to $399. I was kinda wary about the whole transaction (it was the cheapest price at the time) but the seller's account has decent feedback so I paid through PayPal and anxiously waited for it.

Right after I paid, I was browsing around eBay completed listings and found the exact same iPhone listing for the same price with the same description but the seller's account was a completely different one! I thought I just got scammed from a phished account so I was panicking, and I decided to contact the buyer of the other listing asking him who did he pay to and to let me know when or if he receives his iPhone. He seems a bit sketchy too while I was contacting my credit card company to cancel the transaction to no avail.

A few days later, the other guy sent me an email telling me he had received his iPhone and it was brand new as stated. Prior to this point, I had send some "angry" emails to my seller but never really accused him of scamming...yet. He promptly responded for me to calm down and that I was worrying too much as the phone will be there soon. Sure enough, I did receive my first iPhone brand new as described and thought I was just being worried for no reason so I left him a positive feedback.

However, a month later I received my new AT&T bill and it says that I owed them $450 for an iPhone! I was confused but as it turns out the iPhone was bought with an fraudulent credit card so once I activated it, AT&T came after me for the money they didn't make in the first place. I was told this is a very common scam at the time and that if I can prove I did purchase it through eBay and paid through PayPal, I'll be fine. Eventually after spending a few days running around to get this resolved, AT&T cleared the $450+ bill.

If it looks too good to be true, it'd probably is. I got lucky I had purchased that phone through eBay and paid with PayPal so I had proof as I would have been SOL if I had bought it on Craigslist or paid with a money order. Sorry for the novel post but this is what happens when work is slow...

Ok, so my thread is bogus because I don't post often?? I have been a member since 07 bro.

This forum has turned into a shark tank....we all have at least one thing in common (Apple), so why does every single thread turn sour??

Thank you to all the NICE folks who have given their advice. I appreciate the help.

I only wanted to part ways with the phone if I could me ALOT of profit. A few hundred bucks wasn't worth it to me.

I'm shady because I started the phone at a high price? Geez....

Starting price was $1,500 and BuyItNow price was $1,750. Now you are complaining about somebody clicked on the BuyItNow button. Right? Did you really guess peoples in the US would click on the button?

After reading all the scam responses, now I'm I'm a little concerned about my sale. I to sold the wifes extra iphone, got a $900 shipped. The buyer is from Taiwan, feedback is 5, the paypal I got has seller protection, and the address the buyer wants ship to is confirmed. What do you guys think??? The funds are in my account. What do you guys think??
