It has been said a number of ***** times. The phone number associated with the billing.

It's also been said a number of times that it's the phone number associated with the Apple ID, in which case I think it might be different depending on which provider you are on, and in that case I wanted to know which number was used by Verizon orders placed though Apple specifically.

Tried both, didn't work, but if somebody from Verizon told me which worked for them I might not have to keep trying every phone number i can think of.

Unfortunately the Verizon account has a family plan so if it's the Verizon account phone number, there are actually multiple numbers I need to try (there are multiple phone numbers set up as the billing account numbers with Verizon for some reason). Anyways I guess I'll just be patient, but I thought I'd ask anyways.

Seems like allot of people on Verizon cannot get the UPS tracking to work.

You said you ordered through the Apple site, so the phone numbers used for your Verizon billing don't matter. Or at least shouldn't, as orders placed through Apple will use the phone number tied to your billing info since that is the only phone number Apple knows and would use as a reference for tracking purposes. If you can't find your tracking info, try the order confirmation number you received when you completed your order. If you still can't find it, it just hasn't shipped yet.

Apple will be shipping a majority of iPhones to stores and customers from these warehouses. I expect we'll see a lot of updates on Wed.

I just talked to apple, and in my case which is still stuck in the prepared for shipping status, they told me mine is coming from overseas, so the idea that it might be coming from a US warehouse is not true in my case. I also asked her don't you think it is weird that it is tuesday and my order still has not even left or ready to leave from china? she said yea that is a bit weird but you should trust you will receive it on the 14th. I also have been trying the ups and fed ex trick with no luck.
BTW- 16g 4S black, ordered 5:15 am eastern time on october 7, att as my carrier

When I placed my order through apple.com, Apple's order system pulled my shipping address from my Verizon account and wouldn't let me change it (which was annoying but that's another story). So Apple does have access to my Verizon account info for shipping purposes, that's why I thought they might use my Verizon account number as a reference.

Yeah it's likely it just hasn't shipped yet but it's been "prepared for shipping" since Sunday morning. I guess I'll just wait and see.

If you know the destination, you can make an educated guess of the flight time based on the time of the departure scan. In your case, it's headed for Anchorage, AK. You can search flightaware.com for upcoming flights from Hong Kong to AK, or if it has already departed you can find the flight closest to the scan time and track the flight's status.

For my Apple.com order, not only did the phone number trick work on UPS.com but also my Apple order number without the last 2 numbers!

So if your order number is W123456789 then try W1234567 as the reference.

Does this mean I'm not getting mine on Friday?

Did you get shipping notification through Apple or through the "Track by reference" trick? If you used "track by reference" which phone number did you use (Verizon account or Apple ID)?

I used Track by Reference. I still haven't received Shipping notification and my order still shows preparing for shipment. I used the number that is attached to my Apple ID which is my Cell number(Verizon).

Well, the same thing happened to me. It didn't revert to my AT&T shipping address but my previous shipping address. The only way I could change it was by phone after I placed my order. The Apple rep I spoke with said that was happening to a lot of people, so it may not have had anything to do with your Verizon address.

Thanks for the tracking flight info. but just realized that it says

Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong 10/11/2011 8:50 P.M. Arrival Scan

Since there is no departure scan I think its not left Hong Kong yet.

Tracking the phone is now getting exciting :D

Whether this works or not depends on from which company you ordered your iphone. I have a package shipped from Bloomingdales, but I also can't find it by "track by reference" using phone number, order number etc. This thread is stupid

Yeah I actually ended up with the same issue, had to call Apple and change the shipping address because the address of the Verizon family plan is in a different state. Apple says everything is good to go even though my order status still shows the wrong address, which is part of the reason I'm still trying to figure out if it has shipped - to make sure Apple was actually successful in fixing my address.

Another thing that's weird (sorry if this is off topic) but when the servers were being hammered on Friday, I accidentally placed my order twice. My first attempt timed out, I got no verification email and didn't get to the order verification screen, so I ordered a second time. It turns out they are shipping BOTH of my orders. But the weird thing is, I set them both up as a new line on the family plan, and the family plan can only handle 5 lines (and the first one was number 5). You would think if the first order went through that they would have prevented my from placing the second one but I guess not.

Can anybody think of what might happen with the second order? Did I just get two subsidized iPhones when I only qualified for one, or are they going to try to make me sign up for another Verizon account once I get my two phones? I called APple about it and they had no idea what would happen and basically told me to keep the second phone if I wanted....

Hi i just got my info from UPS and it says arrival scan shenzhen 8:12PM. When do you think it will go to hong kong? it doesnt have departure scan though
