i believe it.. he either melted his fone to create a topic or really did get burned... either way.. it sucks.. was ur screen effed up at all?

I am really interested on an update. Apple should really pay attention to your claim if you have evidence and all because I'm SURE they want to avoid a lawsuit on their new iPhone 3G. Have you called them or done anything Thread Starter?

Although it probably would be easy to fake, and they are a newbie, that doesn't look fake.

I'd certainly let Apple know, I'm sure they would hand you a new iPhone and investigate your case.

I wonder what caused it? Let us know what comes of all this, it should be interesting.

care to explain why in some pictures your phone is black and in the last one it's blue?

Give this guy a brake, im not being funny, My 2G iphone gets scolding hot sometime, esp when i been playing games, so to be truthful, im not suprised by this cause and going to put money on that we will see more cases like this. Also i wouldnt expect seeing the odd battery exploding because of the heat either.

Thanks,

I can believe this, my touch gets to the point where spit evaporates on the battery area in less than 5 secs when playing games and listening to music, which is almost too hot to touch!

I am curious to see what Apple says and does on this matter. The important thing is your okay and the phone can be replaced. Let's just hope this isnt an event that others will see. But you should be happy with your new iPhone, new Macbook Air and new 24" iMac. :D

I agree that these 3rd party Apps have brought an extreme workload to the iPhone, and in turn I have seen EXTREME heat coming off of my iPhone. I also see it when iTunes is creating a backup, syncing and charging my iPhone. I'm soo interested in seeing what Apple has to say! Please let us know!!! ASAP

sorry, i'm going to have to call BS on this one... look at the "burn" pattern, there are scratch marks on the edges and inconsistent margins... last time i looked at my iphone there were not random small, thin areas to cause that pattern.. and anyway, what are you a swimmer that you shave your legs?

I was wondering wether or not he had shaved his legs...? Where exactly is the burn?

it may run hot with the 3rd party apps, but would he be running those in his pocket while he was sleeping... i highly doubt it...

Exactly - The heat I experience is during periods of intense use. What he has is either a defective iPhone, or I really don't know... He's making it up? This one's a tough call.

I shaved the area of the burn so it could be seen better, and so others wouldn't be grossed out...my legs are still bear-like :D

But everyone stay tuned for the conversation!

I need to TYPE it out for legal purposes... :apple:

like an hour ago you said you were uploading an audio file. Did they find out what your intentions were, and called to stop you from doing it?? lol..

i must say, you had everyone interested in this one

now since you are making this thing up, please make it a good read........lol

I always like people who say to threaten Apple.

Always do that as a last resort, since any substantial threats can mean all your accounts are shifted over to the legal department for handling.

This can result in a huge long wait as every single repair you have gets vetted by their legal department.

A quick power brick swap might mean a 6 month turn. Due care in handling all claims turns into long waits.
