Im thinking mine is still in china, despite my status saying "in transit" ...

activity: left fedex origin facility 5:27pm
activity: pickup 5:27pm - package received after fed ex cutoff.

so .. am i correct in assuming that it was picked up from the manufacturing plant, but missed the cutoff time ... so its sitting in a truck somewhere waiting to leave china?

a friend just bought one at the store .. and its killing me. i need my macbook pro.

Why has mine been saying this the last 2 days for my macbook pro refurb??

Arrived at FedEx location

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT PH

so it has left the philippines, but where is it now!?!?

I think yours may have been on the same plane as mine. Mine just showed up in Alaska. I'm not sure why we got routed through the Philippines, probably the direct flights are pretty full. It was definitely up in the air for a while.

Mine just went from "Not Yet Shipped" to "Prepared For Shipment"

how much time took you guys to change your status from "Not yet Shipped" to "Prepared to ship" and from there to "Shipped"?

I placed my order for MBP 2.8 320GB 7200 on October 16, 2008 11:02:05 AM EDT and it just went to "Prepared For Shipment" around 9:30 PM October 20, 2008. That's 4 days and about 10 hours for the first change...

Agonizing. . .

Ordered my new MBP on 10/15. Still hasn't shipped yet. Although I did receive my MagSafe Airline Adapter today. Hooray for small victories.

I ordered mine from Amazon tonight and requested the next day shipping upgrade for $3.99 (I subscribe to Amazon Prime, so two-day shipping would have been free). It's supposed to be here Wednesday.

I was "Processing" from last Tuesday, Oct. 14th @ 5pm to Friday morning when it switched to "Prepared For Shipping". It stayed that way until today, early Monday morning when it updated to "Shipped".

ETA Friday Oct. 24th via UPS.

Dude, mine shipped Saturday, and I have an ETA of Friday, who knows what is actually happening with UPS. Mine hasn't been updated in over 24 hrs either. For all I know its lost in the UPS system

I've noticed many times that in certain cases both FedEx and UPS don't update their tracking. Normally, "package data transmitted..." means the shipper has electronically transmitted the shipment info to the carrier and that that its available for pickup. Once picked up, you should be able to see the shipment arrive and depart from the various depots as it makes its way to you. But I've had a number of instances where the tracking info has read "package data transferred..." for a couple of days and then the item shows up at my door without warning.

According to the tracking info, mine is still in Shanghai. The status rarely seems to change, and I'm not sure how those that get these long status reports are getting them.

Ordered: 10/14
Prepared for Shipment: 10/16
Ready for Shipment: 10/17
Picked Up and Left FedEx: 10/20

Arrival: ...?

Yeah, mine even went from being on a plane from Shanghai to Alaska all the way back to data transmitted to UPS, and then back to the same flight that had already left within about 12 hrs. I really think the whole tracking system is just messed up, for both carriers.

...I really think the whole tracking system is just messed up, for both carriers.

It can be sometimes. I've done a lot of shipping over the past few years and none of this is really new: Neither carrier's tracking system is very consistent and doesn't always update on a regular basis, domestic or otherwise. I'm not sure if was this thread or another, but I mentioned that I've had packages delivered to me before with absolutely no updates beyond the "package data submitted" stage.

From what I've seen here, if you have no estimate yet, from whomever your carrier is, the very latest you'll see your package arrive is the date given to you on the Apple website. Until someone posts claiming otherwise, at the very least your Mac should arrive by that date. :)

I'd just like to know so I can plan which day to call in sick in order to stay home and play with my new MPB!

Well, I guess I'll just go to sleep tonight and hope that 72 hours of no update is enough for my MacBook Pro to arrive tomorrow.

Here's to wishful thinking!

oh i hear that. when i get this macbook pro, i may be 'very ill' for a few days. however, its been 5 days since i ordered, almost 6 ... and im starting to think my macbook pro is on mars. i know it sounds crazy ... but i cannot think of another reason for it taking so long. it must be mars. and im pissed. and my buddy has his ... cuz i cheaped out 47 bucks and downgraded the hard drive to the 250g 7200rpm .... fack.

I played my order for the same model on Oct 14, 2008 at 2:14 PM EST, had to cancel it (drat apple not specifying they didn't make a Mini-DisplayPort to DisplayPort adapter), had it canceled and re-ordered (this time with an adapter grumblegrumble) over the phone with Apple at 04:58 PM EST on Oct. 15, 2008, and it JUST updated the same time yours did. That's a five day four and half hour wait for the first change...at least I know it's starting to do something.

We might be plane buddies. (Same time zone, same update time.)

I definitely feel a 'flu' coming on, but it keeps getting pushed back a day. It's not going to be any fun if it arrives on Friday and I can't call in sick on a Saturday!

mine  it wont tell me when it arrives still

I used Fedex a lot shipping from asia to Canada. Used international priority all the time and if yours ship out 20th (Sunday night in North America), should be here on on 22nd your time pending if US custom doesn't hold it.

Keep me update and lemme know if I'm spot on or not! ;)

My mistake,... I mean 21st on Tuesday. Which is tomorrow.

Apple site says I should get it by 22nd, but fedex says estimated delivery on the 24th. I wonder who is right, the fedex tracking is stuck on that data transmisson.

Well, its been a whole business day and Shanghai must be sleeping because my MBP is still Not Yet Shipped. I really hope I get it this week!
