I called yesterday and asked a question I already new the answer to, "Why wasn't overnight shipping an option during the check out process? I would like to upgrade..."
He then told me that since they were coming from China they couldnt do overnight. But then he told me he was going to change my shipping to overnight and refund the 13 dollars I spent on 2-3 day shipping. Strange right? I dunno but I got 13 dollars back and we will see how long it takes to ship.
How long time did it take for you guys from "prepared for shipment" to "shipping"?

I custom ordered on the 15th 3pm (Calgary time), and it changed status on the 20th (Shanghai time).

A Little Comparison
I thought I would post these two attachments to demonstrate a little pattern to help estimate our actual arrival dates. I stole the first pic from CoolMacDude and the second from SchneiderMan (Thanks Guys).
Note that CoolMacDude received his MBP yesterday after it being shipped on the 17th Shanghai time. He did receive it 2 days earlier than his delivery date, though.
Judging by the similarities in the the shipping pattern for SchneiderMan (I too have almost identical tracking info), I would bet that we will actually get ours on the 23rd. There may be a slight chance we get it tomorrow since CoolMacDude's shipped mostly over the weekend, but I doubt it.
Any thoughts? For the record, I ordered mine Wednesday the 15th 12pm PST.

Go by the shipping est. Apple gives you and not the fedex one.Cause me and coolmacdude had the same info, and apple told me monday oct 20 and I got it on monday.
If you're near a major FedEx hub, you may see it tomorrow, otherwise it'll likely be on Thursday.

hey everybody I ordered on the 16th @12pm, status finally changed late last night to "prepared for shipment"....and it has stayed that way all day. Kinda surprised it didn't ship today. Apple says expected delivery is the 22nd-28th. How long did everyone elses sit in the Prepared stage? I'm really anticipating this machine..My 1st Mac!!

I ordered around the same time as you and also have the exact same status. Based on what I've read in this thread it could stay stuck at that status for another day or possibly two (hope not). If it does ship out tonight we might be lucky enough to have them in hand by friday!
i think a lot of you are forgetting to account for the time difference between here and shanghai...if youre in the US, and it sat "prepared for shipment" all day where you are, its probably because its been all night where the computer is, and thus not during working hours. i would think they are barely waking up right now, as its only 6:30am.
I ordered thursday night at like 10pm PDT and just this morning it went to prepared for shipment. It would be nice if I got it by Friday so we will see. Im really hoping it ships soon.

It would be great if it arrived by Friday, but that means i wont get it until next week... To avoid the EXTRA $235 tax apple wanted to charge to send it to Seattle, Im sending it home to my Parents in Oregon..no tax.. but thats going to add atleast another 2 days to my wait.
I just want my 1st Mac. This Dell sucks ass.
