I ordered the 15" 2.5ghz stock config. It still says Prepared for Shipment...I figured that meant it would ship today though but I still haven't gotten a tracking number yet. It's said that since like 10am.

I ordered the 2.8ghz/7200rpm one last night and it's 'shipped' from China, so I have no idea when it'll be here.

Must be nice. I ordered a at 12:4x PST 2:4x CST and mine still hasn't shipped and I had the exact same configuration. I was going to cancel the order and get a 2.8 in store but they didn't have any and said they don't plan to stock it at all.

Mine just updated to prepared to ship on my BTO. Hopefully it will go out today and I'll get it tomorrow. I've been stuck between a Mac Pro at home and the one at work for the past two weeks and really not a portable to carry into meetings and to class at night.

That's encouraging, as I ordered the exact same CTO configuration about four hours after you did. Mine is still "not yet shipped", but I'm hopeful that it will change today to "prepared to ship".

Hope yours ships out today...who knows, at this rate you could get it by the weekend!

It looks like I won't get mine for the weekend.
After two days, it's still in China :( I would have expected it to be overseas by now at the very least

Same boat here. Ordered base MBP immediately when store opened with overnight. Its still in China. I was hoping to get it by this weekend but that's not looking likely. I wonder if they messed up the shipping.

I'd be surprised with any delays receiving your orders given not many pros will be upgrading to this revision.

You know, I keep reading this and it seems to be a common theme. But there are a bunch of Apple stores in my area, and all of them were cleaned out immediately. I called the one close to me in the morning, they didn't have them yet. I called at about 11AM and they had just gotten them and not started selling yet. When I arrived there like an hour later they were all gone and people were milling about disappointed.

I immediately drove to a different store, calling ahead and requesting they hold one (telling the story how I missed getting one). They did, but when I arrived like 30 minutes later people were standing all around empty handed watching the last handful of people leave with their new MB/MBP's.

I got the last 15.4 / 2.53 unit.

Dunno, people seemed a lot more excited than the forums would lead you to believe.

Does anyone know how long the new macbook pros are taking to ship in the UK I ordered mine yesterday - 2.53 with a 128 ssd :D

Hmmmm amazing, if you buy the MBP in UK, US or Australian Apple Store theres a 3-5 day build time, but when you live in Scandinavia they need 8 days to build it and even longer time to ship it to you, the waiting is going to be tough

Mine shows 8:03 pm transmitted. It hasn't been picked up. I think Shanghai is 13 hours ahead of us. If thats the case it probably won't be picked up until tomorrow there and I won't get it before Monday unless Fedex brings it out on a Saturday. :(

I know when I order my Macbook Pro (the older one now I guess haha), about a month ago it took about 3 days from when I ordered it to get here from China. Fedex tracking site is weird as some times it doesn't update until its on the way to your house. Mine showed up 2 days before the actual tracking said it would arrive. Good luck to you guys and hopefully you'll have them shortly.

Why'd you have to say that? I just accepted that it will arrive on Monday at the earliest, and now you just got my hopes up high again ;)

It does say "In transit", so technically, it could be over the sea on its way to the FedEx depot here

I ordered my MacBook Pro on the 14th, and received notice that it shipped on the 15th. I paid for next day service so I was excited to be getting it today.

I just checked the tracking and it says estimated delivery is the 20th. Last time i checked, 5 days != overnight. I just got off the phone with Apple and they agreed to refund the $19 next day shipping charge.

I know it's FedEx's fault and not Apple's, but I was so excited to be getting my new toy today. Now I gotta wait till Monday. :(

It was a standard 2.5 GHz MBP shipping from China BTW

I don't get where you all are seeing the option to chose next day shipping....when I checked out there were two shipping options-standard shipping and 2-3 day...where is the overnight option?? I just went through again as if I were placing a new order and it listed the same thing...?

No it is Apple's fault. They do not ship "next day" from China. They do not ship 2day from China. Apple has a contract with FedEx in which ALL shipments out out "International Priority Direct Distribution." The problem is Apple doesn't tell you that when you order so you end up paying for "expedited" shipping even when the "free" ground shipping goes out on the exact same plane and is delivered with a FedEx Express, not Ground, truck.

Pretty much when Apple saids we do next day shipping is the Fedex "next day" shipment but it depends on when it actually ships out.

I got confused a little bit by the same thing. It seems like you have to have ONLY the notebook in the cart to see the overnight shipping option online. I only had the option for overnight when ordering a MacBook Pro alone, but not after I had a DisplayPort adapter in the cart. But I called Apple and they upgraded the whole order to Overnight, so we'll see if it actually takes that long to ship.

Just got off the phone with Apple customer service and they said there is no "overnight" option as it's shipping from China-the fastest option is the 2-3 day service...and then she upgraded my shipping free of charge! :D

I ordered my custom MBP Tuesday, and today it finally says "prepared for shipment". I ordered it with 2-3 day shipping, so I'm a little dissapointed that the planned arrival dates are the 20th - 24th. :(

I hope it ships today and arrives by the weekend, I can't take the waiting!

Hmmm ... I was able to select "Overnight" during the checkout process online. Mine just updated to "Prepared for Shipment — Delivery Date Unknown" this morning so hopefully I get it before the weekend ... probably wishful thinking

Do you know if yours is shipping from China? I think that the CS rep meant that only the orders shipping overseas could not be shipped overnight.

Mine finally changed to "prepared for shipping" but the delivery date is still "by the 24th"- hopefully it will arrive Monday...weekend is major wishful thinking!

Mine just shipped at 3pm this afternoon from Middletown, PA, so hopefully it gets to NH tomorrow. Overnight-base MBP.
