Finally got the shipment notification a couple of hours or so ago! It shipped out at 8:44 pm on October 18th, Shanghai time-yesterday, our time. Should have it Monday per Apple's email...and this was the expedited delivery option. Sweet!

Mine has FINALLY left Shanghai. Took it three days, but it's out! Made a quick stop in Japan, and now it's on it's way to the US.
Anyone else break their refresh button in firefox on the apple order status page ... "Not yet shipped" ... its killing me. Thank goodness for rum. Ordered the 2.53 with a 250g 7200rpm drive, on Wednesday 15th ... i guess the customization is slowing it down ... Ugh.

I ordered the 2.8 Ghz with the hard drive upgrade at about 11:00 PST on Tuesday.

ya mines been stuck at prepared for shipment or not yet shipped for the last day and today... i have 2.8ghz BTO, im hoping it ships out tonight or early tomorrow so i have it Monday? i ordered it tuesday at 530.... sucks to have a top-of-the-line mbp lol ships slow
I was really hoping to have in Monday, but it looks like it'll show up on Tuesday at the earliest.
I have been surprised by Apple's shipping before, so there is still hope it'll arrive on Monday. It's currently 5:00 AM on Sunday in Shanghai, so people should start going to work soon...

I'm super anxious its taking this long. All of my other BTO systems shipped super fast. My Santa Rosa wasn't supposed to ship for a month and I had it in like 3 days.
I really can't complain at this point because it said ships in 3-5 days. Mine actually shipped on Thursday which was 2 business days. If it would have been the full 5 they estimated it wouldn't have even been shipped out until Tuesday.
I had to go play with them in the store so I was one of the first with hands on and make sure I didn't want to cancel the order early on. I just think its funny some people go into how horrible apple's customer service is because they don't have the product several days before apple quoted them.
I can't really defend apple on charging people for a more expensive shipping product and shipping it the same way. That is tasteless in my opinion, but in my experience almost every company has some type of questionable business practice.
I just wish they would light a fire under FEDEX to at least update their tracking information. Mine hasn't been updated since Friday morning.

I got a question regarding FedEx. For regular mail postal service, they leave it at the office until you pick it up, but I know FedEx tries again to deliver. Mine is scheduled for Monday, and since I'm at work, any way I can tell them I'll pick it up directly from their depot?
EDIT: I answered my own question by calling FedEx. Apparently you have to waste the time of the driver and let them attempt to deliver it to you. Once you see on the tracking that it's a missed drop off, you can call in to make arrangements to pick it up at the nearest depot

After they make one delivery attempt you can call and have them hold for pickup. You can also usually pickup the same day as the first delivery attempt but you'll need to call to find out what time they expect the driver to return back to the station. This info will also be on the door tag they leave.
In the service apple pays for they have to make the 1st delivery attempt but they leave a tag that you can pick it up that same day after a certain time. It is Fedex policy that they make one attempt. I already called and tried to make arrangements so I could pick it6up during lunch rather than having to make a trip late in the evening after I'm already home. The times here are generally after 6 pm.
received mine yesterday. wasn't expecting delivery until monday but then i saw a note from fedex that they stopped by. had to go pick it up. i wasn't going to wait until monday anymore.

I had that same thing yesterday, and today it says it has left Anchorage, AK. I'm assuming that it means that it went through customs or something while in the US.
Has anyone received a customized macbook pro as of yet? I have a friend that continues to inform me that mine won't be here till November ... Its really starting to piss me off. My order has been stuck at 'Not yet shipped' since Wednesday morning ...

Finally got new tracking info and my MBP went from Shanghai to the Philippines..?! This is a first....usually it goes from Shanghai to Alaska. And this is expedited shipping? Doesn't make any sense. Apple's shipment notification email says delivery tomorrow...FedEx's tracking info says by Weds, the 22nd. I don't get it. Anybody else's going this route?
