When ever I buy a new iPhone I always purchase a case as well, and then take it off within the next hour.

It comes down to the beauty and feel of the device for me. Be careful with it, and you'll be fine.

And I have OCD, still doesn't get to me.

What does having OCD to do with that?

Another case of reading what you want to read...his comment was directed at those saying that the phone is too beautiful for a case not those who simply prefer to rock it naked. Reading is fundamental!

cool man

I think it will, btw I got the case free as a gift, before this I was using one of those $5 gel/tpu cases from eBay.

Having sold every single one of my iPhones to date on Craigslist locally, I have seen nothing but appreciation of my mint condition iPhones year after year by second hand buyers.

iPhone 4 16GB Purchased for = $500 [Purchased Used 2.5 months after launch], Sold for $450 --- Sold 1.5 months before 4S launch
iPhone 4S 64GB Purchased for $700 [Purchased used about 3.5months after launch] = Sold for $550 --- Sold 4 months after iPhone 5 launch
iPhone 5 32GB = $600 [Purchased used about 2 months after launch] = Sold for $520 --- Sold 3 weeks before 5S launch
iPhone 5S 64GB = $900 - Purchased Brand New At launch --- Hoping it will sell for around $650-$700 approx. 1 month before launch of next iPhone.

All In all If this 5S goes for about my asking price, I'll have spent about $550 over 4 years of iPhones....roughly $137/year "leasing" cost practically....much cheaper than AT&T NEXT, T-Mobile Jump etc.

If I really need to, I usually pick up a cheap android phone for the "in between" and for me this works, may or may not work for others but I am happy with the way things turn out.

Smart man, i like you. But yea, not everybody care about this.

I prefer to put a case, not to worry anymore and still getting good resale value. Rather than cleaning the phone every day and use it cautiously.

Using a 5s with no cover or screen protector either.

Initially had a case with my earlier 4s, but removed it after a while. I just preferred the feeling of a naked iPhone in my hand (something about metal, glass and body heat from hands, I suppose), plus the screen protectors I had just degraded the screen more.

I find the iPhone is so thin and light that any additional case just makes it intolerably that much thicker and heavier. Is this a disaster waiting to happen? Maybe, but we will cross the bridge when we get there. :p

Okay, day 2 update:

it's over. I liked the naked feel, but it's just too thin and sharp to hold comfortably. I threw my zoogue case back on there and it's night and day. So much easier to hold and pick up.

It's still plenty thin!

Naked iPhone 5s?

Going back to what I asked before, how does AppleCare work? How "bad" does your iPhone have to be in order for them to replace it? Will they replace the screen if you drop and smash it?

If you get it replaced over the phone they will mail you a new/refurb. You can use AppleCare anytime you want, as long as you pay the $80. I was told by the AppleCare rep. that you can get it replaced if you have too many scratches or whatever cosmetic damage there is that bothers you too much. It doesn't have to be broken. They mail you a new one and you mail yours back to them after you receive the new one. Very simple.

Paid £79 which is about $132. First time AppleCare has been available in the UK. If it's the same here as there I'm definately going naked!

Case is for Bozos;) now seriously - ive/steve designed every iphone as a jewel, i never use a case.

I have only been using the zagg full body invisible shield since the iPhone 3G and have never had a problem. I have every iPhone released in mint condition.

iPhone 5s with Otterbox commuter. I don't know what is up with all you no-life's who say "OMG the iPhones so beautiful I can't cover it up!" It's a d&@$ phone. Get a life! I'd rather have it more protected with a good case then be able to get off to th looks of a cell phone..And plus I really don't like the feeling of aluminum on the side of the 5s. Had a s4 for a couple days and much prefer that to the feel of the 5s, luckily the otterbox commuter feels nice in hand

Cars are made to withstand harsh elements.... One drop and the iPhone is done. What a dumb argument

One wreck and the car is done. Drop a car, it too would not survive well. Not so dumb.

Always used my my several iPhones naked. It's less about the aesthetics for me, more the fact that imo it just plain works better with direct access to the controls as the designers intended. That it maintains it's tiny, thin, light form factor and looks pretty (in a tech sense) is just a bonus.

Ok maybe a screen protector isn't such a bad idea, just noticed a feint scratch on the screen of my 5s about 2cm long, lol oh well I guess it's going to happen...

I used my 5 naked and now I do the same with my 5S. I just love the way it feels with no case and it feels so much lighter. I like how cool it is to the touch in the mornings. That being said, I usually throw a slim case on it when I know I will be out somewhere I could potentially act stupid and drop it.

How' are they holding out? Any scratches to the screen, even feint ones? Don't know know I've ended up with a scratch even if it is tiny, my phone goes from my pocket to my hand and that's it ?

No scratches.

No scratches.

Not that I don't believe you, but....... I don't believe you. Not even the most careful person could go long without picking up some scratches. I don't see why this is such an issue though these days with super thin cases like the Caudabe Veil. It's pretty much like going naked, but at least you don't have to worry about scratches or chips.

Not a scratch here, naked since I got my 5s in september. Veil isn't naked, you think it is but naked is naked, veil looks like crap and is not naked.

I have no scratches on my naked iP5S
I can't even see any scratches ordains on chamfered edges.
The Caudabe Veil is probably one of the most useless cases on the market.
It offers no sort of drop protection and for scratching issues it probably causes
more scratches than protects against.

Mmmmm, agree to disagree I guess. I know at least for me it's totally protected against what would've certainly been scratches ( or worse, chips on the edges) when banging around in my pocket or in my suitcase/backpack. Not sure where you get the idea that it causes scratches either. Aluminum and glass are both harder than soft plastic. For what the case does, it does it remarkably well. Any thicker and you lose the feel of the naked iPhone.
