I have never used a case and my iPhone has no scratches. The trick is to have a dedicated pocket.

I always rock my phone naked but I do have a case whenever I go out . Today , I put on my Apple leather phone case before I went out and for the first time I dropped my phone ! Luckily , nothing happened .

No case on my Space Gray. Do people think Apple makes sure these things break when dropped? Drop tests are apart of testing. Sure they can break, but a minor drop isn't as awful as everyone makes it out to be. In the 2 years I owned my 4S, I dropped it twice, and both times, nothing. I dunno, that's my philosophy at least.

Had my Gold 5S for 1 week. No nicks or scratches yet! Really thinking about a brown case by Apple though

One week ..... Report back in 2-3 months ....

I'm very very carefull with my iPhone 5 but with a leather "slim" case I had a couple of little dents on the edge ...

As you can see, edges are naked ...

So I had to switch to a more robust one like this ...

It is a nice product but it doubles the iPhone 5 thickness ....

I so wanna go naked but always end up with a case. I love the leather Apple case but at home on weekends I just use a sleeve. Got AppleCare plus. First time available over here in UK.

My strategy, developed after having this debate in my head after every new phone purchse:

Buy phone, put case on immediately - "sweet, new phone! I even like this cool case!"

After 6 months - "kinda lusting after the new tech"

Remove case - "I forgot how sleek this thing was...it's like a brand new phone!"

After 6 months - "kinda lusting after the new tech"

Purchase new phone, repeat cycle.

A thin case with some kind of bumper I have found helpful, but is there a need to get a screen protector? I have been told that is not really useful. But then again, I have seen some pretty banged up screens and many people I know, like some of the people here, just the phone naked.

I keep a otter box case on my 5s and then every now and then I take it off then use it for a while for fun ha

It's very beautiful and I love it's design from the 4

bars are there to drink & socialize not be on your phone ;)

I haven't been to a bar where there aren't people on their phone lol

This, but put snap on case instead of no case.

I recommend the SGP Spigen Crystal Ultra Hybrid. I brought my 5S 64GB Gold to China for 2 weeks, and it came back unscathed. A case is always good idea for drop protection unless you want to do AppleCare+.

Nice .... What is the elastic for ?

The elastic helps keeping the iPhone in the sleeve. This is because the sleeve doesn't have a 'tight' fit (and no lid). In my opinion this is a good thing as it helps preventing slide marks on the iPhone (the Knomo sleeve also has microfibre lining inside so maybe I'm a bit too anal about this :) ).

I'd like to have a look at that sleeve.

I love the idea of my iPhone 5 naked, but it is too fragile ...

It is fragile and I always pay attention when I put it on my desk or in my pocket (no keys in the same pocket :) ).

On the other hand, I have used an iPhone 4 for three years this way and it is still in a very good condition (only a very small scratch on the back side).

No Case

I waited in line from dark until dawn for my 5s - 64 GB Space Gray - Unlocked. (Yes, yes, and yes, they did actually have unlocked iPhones on launch day).

I used the phone completely naked for a week. Decided I would try out a glass screen protector from iLoome, as it kept the naked look. I have, however, realized that it was unnecessary. I still prefer the way it felt right out of the box. The glass on the iPhone doesn't scratch (unless you take it to a beach volleyball party and use it as the volleyball)...

As for cases? Don't use one. Anyone who thinks I'm crazy is, themselves, crazy. IMO the iPhone is a beautifully-crafted piece of art and design, and that's how it should stay. It doesn't need plastic garbage on it. The only time I use a very slim, snap on case, is at the gym - to protect it from bangs here and there. When I leave the gym - the case goes in my bag, naked iPhone goes in my pocket. Oh and, for what it's worth, my 5s is still flawless. (resale value is mint condition).

I am very careful with my iPhones, nonetheless every single one dropped at least once. I can't take any iPhone naked.
