I GOT IT TO WORK! Thanks to baba19981 on the Apple Support forums for posting this solution.

1. Unpair and repair watch. You should be able to restore it from a backup. Make sure your native apps are already on the watch.

2. Delete all Music from Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage> Manage Storage > Music > Edit > Delete all songs

3. Make an iCloud Back Up

4. Make an iTunes Encrypted Back Up (During this step was when I noticed that the apps were working)

5. Sync to iTunes to get your music back.

I didn't lose any data and all of my native apps are working, even after syncing to get my music back on my phone. I cannot believe this actually did it.

It's funny that now Fantastical doesn't work anymore. But my other native apps are now working after doing this.

Has anyone successfully launched a native app? I have loaded 2 and they just sit and spin before crashing.

Was this not the bug that caused the update to be delayed?

Try deleting all your Music from the iPhone and after make an iCloud BackUp and a iTunes BackUp of your iPhone, this worked for me, no need to restore

first of all let me take a second and thank you very much and the original person who found out this method on the apple suport forums, this absolutely worked and although it still took about an hour to get done because of having to do a pair and re pair and the backups it certianly took less than a full restore and i didnt lose any of my data, the apps are now working as they should.

Citymapper as well star walk 2 are still not working for me but the other native apps are working such as facebook messanger, the apple store official app, Pcalc Lite.

Nvm I reinstalled the apps that didn't work and they work now, this officially resolves this bug as all native apps work now.

Have you tried deleting your music from the phone and checking if the apps work? I suspect that might be all you need to do.
Yeah. I deleted the music, but the apps still don't work. So doing the backup steps now

Edit: Actually got it to work by then un-installing and re-installing apps. Cancelling the backup now

This didn't work for me :( when you pair the watch and phone again after Step 5, do you install the watch as a new device or load the backup?

Thank you all who posted this! Mine is also sucessful!

Deleted music, backed up via iTunes, then deleted and reinstalled the affected apps. At first dark sky wouldn't work, but carrot weather did, the rune blade worked. Lifeline 2 didn't. but dark sky has started working, as has lifeline, have installed messenger and that also works!

To confirm the steps i took.

1.) removed music from phone following the instructions (settings, general, storage, delete. Also deleted all Audiobooks.)
2.) turned phone on and off for good measure.
3.) Encrypted backup via itunes
4.) deleted and reinstalled all affected apps
5.) repeatedly tried apps till they all worked!

EDIT/UPDATE: Loaded music back on, literally just by hitting sync again when it was reconnected. All still works

Well, it's neither since you're not actually restoring the watch. Try it this way, but don't unpair the watch this time:

1: Delete all music by going to settings > General > Storage & iCloud usage > Manage Storage > Music > Edit > Delete all songs

2: Uninstall all effected apps from watch. Reinstall them.

3: Sync to iTunes to get your music back on your phone

It worked omg you are my hero. Only tested it with one app thus far (Wunderground), I'll try others next. But this is the first time third party complications have worked or that apps updated for complications haven't crashed, so. You're seriously awesome. I just followed the three steps above; didn't even try the longer method yet, and it still worked fine :)

(Deleting music makes it work though, really? How bizarre.)

This method did not work for me. After completing this, 3rd party apps still crash immediately after starting.
