Received my original Apple Watch back from the Genius Bar and nothing has changed.
- The status in my Support Profile still says that the watch is being diagnosed so I thought that maybe they had replaced my watch with a new one

So essentially they held onto my watch from Saturday till Friday without doing anything other than adding their fingerprints onto the device.

At least I got a nice Apple Watch-branded white box out of it.

Have you tried the "deleting your music" fix?

Dang, deleting my music and backing up actually worked! This is the first time I've been able to launch a native app on my watch.

Just set up my replacement watch, and to be sure...deleted the music from my iPhone prior to setup and installation of apps.... AND....everything now works !!!!!
This is the first time I've been able to use Dark Sky since updating to 2.0.

me too! yay! who needs apple support when you got our nice community? :D
I still wonder how the original fixer stumbled upon this, that must have felt like finding gold...lol

I'm thinking of upgrading to WatchOS 2. Can anyone confirm deleting the music before hand insures a smooth upgrade?

How fast are the native apps loading up? Mine load but way slower than I'd expect a native app to. In fact, I'm pretty much not using third party apps because it's just not worth the wait. I'm happy with everything else the watch does.

I'm just curious if this strange fix results in fast loading native apps, like we were promised.

Native apps seem to load kind of slow the first time. I'm not sure why, but then they often seem to load faster after that. I think there is caching to improve speed after first load.

Well, I'm glad that we seem to have found a reliable work around. Hope they fix this soon so it just works.

I GOT IT TO WORK! Thanks to baba19981 on the Apple Support forums for posting this solution.

1. Unpair and repair watch. You should be able to restore it from a backup. Make sure your native apps are already on the watch.

2. Delete all Music from Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage> Manage Storage > Music > Edit > Delete all songs

3. Make an iCloud Back Up

4. Make an iTunes Encrypted Back Up (During this step was when I noticed that the apps were working)

5. Sync to iTunes to get your music back.

I didn't lose any data and all of my native apps are working, even after syncing to get my music back on my phone. I cannot believe this actually did it.

Just another vote to say this did work for me. Although I did it slightly differently - I do not have an iCloud backup. I backup to my iTunes on my Mac via USB cable.

My steps were:

1. Sync my iPhone to iTunes using the USB cable.
2. Delete all Music from Settings -> General > Storage & iCloud Usage> Manage Storage > Music > Edit > Delete all songs
3. Wait about 1 minute for the iPhone to start responding again; that delete process took a long time and the UI was frozen the entire time.
4. Try my Native app that was giving me trouble, Sleep++. Still didn't work.
5. Get sad that it didn't appear to work.
6. Re-sync my iPhone back with iTunes to put all my music back on my iPhone. Since I have the feature to compress larger audio files to 128kbps AAC, this took all night long.
7. Go to bed annoyed that I even tried this and wasted my time.
8. Next morning, on a lark, try Sleep++ on my Apple Watch. Hooray, it works!
9. Do happy dance and write this post! :)

Yeah I wonder if 2.0.1 and iOS 9.1 Final made any difference.

It makes no difference. I upgraded to 2.0.1 and iOS 9.1 and I still had this problem. Then I tried deleting the music and resyncing it back to my iPhone and now my 3rd party native apps are working!

For the record, I had resolved the issue wiping everything and starting from scratch, and this week (after iOS and Watch OS Update) I had to restore the my iPhone (for another issue) and when I restored from backup (iPhone and Watch) the issue came back.

Sadly, Unfortunately I had not seen the "deleting music" fix on time, so I had to wipe everything and start from scratch again.

Am I the only one that this is not working for? I've tried all steps. I'm doing it once again and in the middle of my music being synced back to the phone. So far, apps still do not work.

HOLY SH*T the "delete the music" thing works!!! I don't even know why or how this would work but it did...

Nice solution. It did absolutely nothing for me other than waste my time.

It didn't work for me before or now, but others have had success. Give it a shot.

This is quite annoying. I'm on travel and don't have my computer to try the music restore method. Just found out that the citymapper app crashes and won't load on the watch. Very disappointed since I rarely use apps on the watch. And just when I needed it it doesn't work.
