I finally gave up and did an erase all settings on the watch and let it reinstall all apps and now it's working just fine. I did not have to restore my phone but I will start fresh on Friday anyway.
How much does that erase? It says erase content and settings. Is that just apps, or does it wipe Apple Pay data? What about watch face presets?

This sure is odd. All i did was install the Watch OS 2 update and everything worked. I wonder what the trigger is that is causing this problem for a subset of people.
I tried reinstall watch os2 without success. This workaround can be odd, but it was the only thing worked for me!:)

ITS Uunbelievable!!!!! but issue is STILL HERE AFTER CLEAR ALL DATA AND RESTORING TO A NEW DEVICE!!!! ARRGGHHH APPLE U MAKE ME CRAZY WHERE IS MY SAMSUNG GALAXY S5!!

better then having no workaround while we wait for a permanent fix with iOS 9.0.1 or watchOS 2.0.1

I'm confused. Earlier in the thread people have mentioned re-pairing the watch and not restoring a backup and said it didn't fix the issue. But there seems to be some luck with erasing all watch content and settings. I would have thought that was the same thing?

Literally sat here for 4 hours restoring my iPhone 6 to factory settings, restored it, which also unpaired and restored the Watch at the same time.

FOUR HOURS FOR NOTHING. It made absolutely no difference - 3rd party apps DO NOT OPEN on my Watch.

I'm going insane...

That's awful. I just don't understand how this working flawlessly for some and absolutely not for others. There has to be some differentiating factor.

It's even more annoying cause I thought maybe it was something to do with me using iOS or wOS betas but nope, the testing I have been doing with the wiping & restoring all devices is actually on my household's second Watch which has never touched beta software. Grrrr.... I'm going to bed!

I erased all settings on watch, repaired, restored from backup and native apps work fine now.
Does erasing all settings and contents before unpairing do anything different?

It really just seems random at this point. It just works for some, doesn't for others.

I'm getting my new phone Friday so I'm just going to unpair and repair then. Not point in doing it twice this week. I can wait the few days. I just hope it works after.

I had WatchOS2 GM and updated to final WatchOS2, also had IOS9 GM and updated to IOS9 final on an iPhone 6 plus. I installed iTranslate, The Guardian and Sleep++ and had Dark Sky, all native apps loads and work flawlessly.

Do I need the charger to do a full erase? I'm at work and haven't got it with me?

I actually just reseted my iPhone and restored it with a backup, then I restored my Watch via the backup as well and well - IT WORKS NOW!!!

I didn't wanted to take this step before just like many others here but now I can highly recommend it. If you encrypt the backup of your iPhone you don't lose anything and your apps work afterwards.

Tempting... but I really don't know if I want to do this with a new device coming Friday. Maybe if more people get it working this way...

For what it's worth, before resorting to restoring the phone and watch, I tried this with success. Before doing this, the native app would just hang on loading and the complication did not work. The app in question is the ETA app.

1. Delete app from the watch itself (not from the Watch app).

2. Delete app from iPhone.

3. Reinstall app from App Store on iPhone (not from Watch App Store).

4. Enable app on watch via the Watch app.

My same thoughts exactly, if some more people confirm this is a fix I might do it.

It was very frustrating to see that even a friend a sold just last week my previous AW was able to run native apps ok on watchOS 2 :(

Already tried that, no luck
