NCAA March Madness 2012 & Bracket Challenge

anyone here have Lehigh over Duke?
I had Duke going out first round of Sweet 16, not the first round!

----------

Rest assured the whole world is getting slaughtered today!

Duke is so over-rated. They don't realize that you are allowed to play basketball inside the three point line. I'd say well over half of their shots taken are three's, which won't win you anything. Plus, the media, like ESPN and Dicky V, swoon over Duke. I LOVE Dicky V, but get off the Duke bandwagon, man. For real.

Pot, Kettle. Kettle, Pot. You two are gonna be lifelong friends. :D

ESPN is basically the ACC network. they fawn over Duke and North Carolina.

Mizzou - huge shock, but I'm so glad. So many people were hopping on that bandwagon for the FF or Finals. Nope! Had them losing to Marquette in the Sweet 16, so doesn't hurt as much.

Duke - they have a lot of talent/potential, but were so streaky and up and down this year. Not a true 2, but still surprising to see them lose in the first round. I had them losing to Baylor.

Michigan - I honestly wanted to pick Ohio, not because I'm a blind MSU fan that hates Michigan, but because Michigan got beat so badly in their last game by OSU I didn't think that they would be able to rebound. Also, Ohio was playing loose, Michigan was playing to avoid the upset. It was impressive that every time Michigan did something, Ohio answered right away. At least I picked the Play In Game > Temple to somewhat make up for sticking with Michigan... mer.

Although it was Thursday, really surprised at how tough Gonzaga played in a true road game against WVU. I didn't think they had it in them.

I feel pretty good in 4th in the Macrumors pool and I'm sitting in 4th out of about 40. Oddly enough it was my 'upset bracket' in 4th, my 'regular picks' is 22nd.

That matchup scared me, but now that OSU's got a taste of their tourney mortality, watch out! Go Bucks!!!

I guess one positive for OSU is that they went deep (for Thad) in their bench in the first half due to foul trouble and still was able to keep it close.

How effing insane is this Murray St/Marquette game? Hectic is an understatement. In a way it's exciting, but it's also aggravating to watch rushed/forced shots and no offensive sets.

Yeah, it's always good to get your bench involved early in this tourney. They also hit their foul shots late. So important right now, if you're going to survive.

VCU vs Indiana is a GAME so far! The second half should be great if this intensity holds. Gotta love these kids playing their hearts out.

I really want to see the Kentucky NBA farm team lose. They look more like bullies then ball players.

Definitely was the most entertaining game to watch today.

Well, ISU kept it close for a bit over one half, but put a fork in 'em.

Also, thanks Vandy for lacking fundamentals like rebounding or inbounding the ball. First Elite 8 casualty.

NC State beats Georgetown, another of the ones I got wrong. The big surprise is I had them playing each other to begin with.
I'm happy for State and the ACC of course-but more red for the 'beeef!

I'm happy for State and the ACC of course...

I like to see State advance, too. Chalk another sweet 16 appearance up for the ACC!

Georgetown really spit the bit on that one, they should have won that game handily.

Georgetown couldn't put em away and State kept shooting well. Don't know what it is about III's Hoyas, but they can't get it done lately. Their talented teams just keep losing early in this tourney recently. They crush my brackets!

Just saw an interesting stat: No Pacific or Mountain time zone teams are left? Shocking! And they bitch about the East Coast bias! :p

I don't know why I trusted Georgetown to make the Sweet 16 this year, they've been professional choke artists for years. If they want to really compete for championships, I think JT3 needs to get dumped. If they want a solid coach and a regularly competitive team, he's your guy.

In other news, MSU sure looked miserable in the first half, and due to that, they let SLU hang in there long enough to dig deep and make this a game. They had to have been like 1 for 8 at the start when SLU was 0-5/6. It could've easily been a 10-16 point lead instead of a miniscule 5. Now SLU is in for the long haul.

If SLU makes the rest competitive - or heaven forbid win - all my Rome friends who went to SLU will give me endless trash.

Lol. I do think he'll get a few more chances, but he's really got to win. DC sports fan won't give him much longer. Granted, he did bring the team back to prominence, but now that they can recruit, they don't need him anymore.

If MSU loses, my brackets will be unrecognizable!

Easily the worst bracket I've had in years. Mizzou in final 4 and Duke in sweet 16 doesn't help much.

Currently in the 35th percentile on espn.com.

At least we've had a lot of fun finishes.

See ya later, SLU. What an ugly game. Looked like an old Wisconsin/MSU game of a few years ago. Probably another ugly one coming against Louisville.

Good showing, SLU. Made it tough on on us, but Sparty pulls it out.

Big Ten is 9-1 in the tourney, by the way. 4 of 16 in the Sweet 16, barring an incredible Purdue upset. Thanks for sucking, Michigan.

Come on Creighton!

My 'Heels are looking pretty good, time for their typical mid 2nd half lapse. Expect a 10 point run about now from creitghton then a late UNC surge for the win if this is a typical game.
They do seem pretty pumped up after the lame technical though.

edit: Yippee I got one right!! 'Heels roll to the sweet 16!

edit2: losing Kendall is just too much. I don't see a path past Eight without him
