I still hope for an updated iPhone 6C which hopefully stays at 4" and uses the same back colors but with a white front.

I still think the 5S will become the 5C-Touch ID etc, but in a plastic case.

Apple have (AFAICR) always used the outgoing top end handset as the new entry level phone, so I don't think they'll change that now.

The 5C was a massive seller for them, so I'll think they just carry that on.

Why do people care so much about a slightly 'protruding' camera? It's not like the big bumps on Android phones, it's a thin metal ring you won't ever notice after you initially buy the device.

It won't make the phone wobble when you put it on a desk, you won't feel it in your hand, and how often do you turn your phone over to the back inspecting each element?

I'd rather they make the whole device thinner and lighter and protrude the camera a fraction rather than limit the thinness of the entire device due to the camera.

Very happy with this.

Is this a phone of your dream?

Why does a phone need to sit flat on a table?

I've never understood the rage here about that.

I sometimes stop for a 'recharge' in Starbucks or somewhere similar and I don't think I've ever had to put my phone flat on the table to use it, as I much prefer to hold it and use it.

Last time I looked, I had 2 functioning arms with functioning hands on the ends-I'd feel weird scrolling my phone on the table with one hand, while the other laid idle!

screen in the dummy phone looks a bit too narrow. Why doesn't apple make it have more screen real estate horizontally is beyond me. Now, it's too tall with narrow bezels.

"Thick antenna bands"? Come on. Yes there are antenna bands. Am I the only one that doesn't mind them? "Thick" is not the adjective I'd use.

They are thick when compared to the iPhone 5 directly next to it in the video. Doesn't really look like progress when you see it like that... Let's just be honest here, you'd mind them if they weren't Apple. Actually Apple seem to be the worst phone manufacturer when it comes to antenna bands, many don't have them, those that do keep them subtle.

That camera...

Why in the world would they do something that is already known to be ugly on iPod Touch.

Whoever is doing the design need to get slap in the face multiple times.

The thinness means nothing, it just mean it's easier to bent.

Apple really gone out of their mind on this one. Just hoping the final product is nowhere near this crap.

I was under the impression that Soviets or communist Russians hat America.!? But once a again they like the toys we make :))

Russians love new toys just like the rest of the World - they're one of our biggest markets (loudspeaker manufacturer). Capitalism is always going to happen when people have access to money!

Why, there are no surprises! The screen is curved, meaning no screen protectors possible. If you put one on the curved bezel will remain unprotected, aligning the screen film will be hell as well, and you'll constantly scratch it off by accident.

Don't even get me started on those antenna band or that terrible protruded camera ring.... Awww I'm so mad!

I was hoping the mockups were wrong. But this is it, the new iPhone 6 is design failure in every way... I really don't want to switch to Android or worse (Windows). So I'll stick to my gorgeous 5s as long as possible for the next couple of years.

See you in line :D

Have you never seen the iPod touch? Its camera protrudes.

Glad I searched. Was about about to post the same thing. Why is this so hard to believe?

I just held my girlfriends mother's new iPod touch and I must say it's a damn fine machine. The weight in the hands is miraculous and the protruding camera ring, dear I say, actually looks pretty sweet.

Failure in every way? From the looks of it, they might have made the most usable large screen smartphone in existence. It's thinner and the curves probably make it more comfortable in hand.

Sorry, the full-on fanboys are excusing the camera protrusion because "everyone put's a case on it" (not me, never have, never broken my iPhone and owned since 3G) - so the rounded edges and "thinness" are irrelevant when you're going to whack a big plastic case on the thing.

You can't say the design is sleek then excuse a protruding camera by saying it'll have a plastic case on it anyway...

Never noticed before but I think home button too close to lower edge of the device. I does not feel right for me.

I agree, i saw ipod touch, looks really great with this camera

I seriously do not understand anyone's reasoning for smaller screens. Those that are probably never realize their phones full potential so they cannot understand the seasonings for bigger screens. Email and web browsing are two big things that really suck on small screens. Two things that are very practical and needed on my phone.

What is so hard to understand about the fact that many people don't care about doing much email or web browsing on their phone? a computer is way better for both of those, not to mention an ipad. Maybe you're the one not realizing the full potential of your computer or ipad. Not everyone uses their phones like you. I want whatever I have to carry around me all the time to be as small and light as possible, I don't care if the screen is small, as long as web browsing is possible in a pinch, i'd rather have a small screen lighter device than a big phone. If i'm in a situation where I want to browse the web a bunch i just bring the ipad. Maybe i'm just not suffering from the internet addiction everyone else is, who knows. doesn't mean i should get a flip phone.

understand now?

Why bigger?

I stuck with my 4S because I didn't like the larger size of the 5, and now this! Am I the only one who wants phones to get smaller?

I've been setting up S3 Minis for a client, and this is looking more attractive as time goes on.

Very frustrating.

Oh man.. it looks absolutely beautiful from the front and the sides. But I'm still not sure about the back. The bands are way too thick for my taste.
The camera might be a deal breaker for me since I don't want to put it in a case, so if it wobbles even just a tiny bit it'll drive me crazy.

That camera...

Why in the world would they do something that is already known to be ugly on iPod Touch.

That is only the opinion of some. I have a current ipod touch, it's the first star trek feeling tech I have. I wish the iphone 6 was as thin and light as it is. protruding camera is fine, rather have that than compromised camera or thicker phone. I have used it with and without a case, and camera never bothered me one bit, even laying it on it's back.

You can't get around the physics cameras need depth. The better the camera the more depth. look at all the current flagship smart phones their cameras protrude out.

It doesn't mean you should get a flip phone, but it most likely means you shouldn't get a flagship premium smartphone either.

I'm excusing the protruding camera by saying the current ipod touch is what the iphone 6 should be like, super thin and light and protruding camera. it is awesome even with no case, even laying it on flat surfaces on its back. Far better this way than making fat bricks or sacrificing camera quality.
