At first i thought original content suxed, but its not so bad once u watch some of it.

I guess more services are forced to do this now-a-days because of content creators are choosing their own 'retreat' methods.

This is how 2018 is gonna look ? ok.

Just watched El Camino Christmas last night. Definitely not the typical Tim Allen role.

Are there any VPN programs that are confirmed to work with Netflix? I am stationed overseas and in the past couldn't get Netflix to work as it detected that I was outside the US.

Defenders was in August. I have yet to watch it.

Punisher
just started streaming.

Also watching the original Twin Peaks and Dark Matter on Netflix, but Dark Matter was a SyFy Network show.
Update on Punisher: thumbs up, outstanding writing, acting, and direction, a high level of intrigue, interesting character psychological profiles, but dark and violent. The story: a strong (violent and victimized) man fights corrupt military/government forces, by taking the law into his own hands becoming a vigilante, because he can’t rely on the good guys to find justice.

Unfortunately, it's a bad parody of Arrow. (Yeah, I know, it really isn't, but they are many similar bits between them.) I wanted to like it, kept trying to like it. Didn't like it.

In this case, he has this magical martial arts power, but can't really harness it when he should. Maybe he's the next Greatest American Hero. (got the suit of power, lost the instructions).

They even introduced a very attractive Asian love interest who happens to be a serious badass, and even that didn't help.
I just watched Episode 1 of Iron Fist... Big Thumbs Up, so far. :D

I just watched Episode 1 of Iron Fist... Big Thumbs Up, so far. :D

Iron Fist Season 1- not perfect, but enough intrigue and interest to bring me back for Season 2.

Three episodes into Frontier (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4686698/) a historical drama centered on 1700s Canada, The Hudson Bay Company, shockingly type cast as the bad guys after Taboo ;), and a half Irish, half Indian renegade (Jason Momoa, aka Khal Drogo) who is upsetting business as usual with the fur trade. Filmed in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. Also enjoying Alun Armstrong as Lord Benton.

  • Marvel’s Daredevil
  • Marvel’s Defenders
  • Marvel’s Iron Fist
  • Marvel’s Jessica Jones
  • Marvel’s Luke Cage
  • Marvel’s Punisher
  • Lost in Space
  • Sense 8
  • Stranger Things

Frontier turned into a bust. :(

Man, I’m missing out on a lot. I deleted my Navigator browser years ago. :D
Holly crap, I just realized my OP, almost 3 years old said Netscape, not Netflix! (now fixed). Damn it, either my auto spell correct, my brain, or evil hackers are conspiring against me. The last is unlikely. :(

LOL. I’ve been known to do that when I’m tired...substitute one name for another without realizing it. What’s worse is not realizing what I actually said until I notice the confused looks I’m getting from people. :p

One of my favorite Marvel shows. Ok, I admit, I actually liked them all, there are episodes in all of the series that I can do with out, but as a whole I like them all! The Punisher and Daredevil are still my two favorite shows though.

Watched the first two episodes of Safe, a mystery set in a gated community in the UK, where a widower’s daughter (Michael C. Hall of Dexter fame) goes missing and it seems that everyone has secrets. It cranks up fast and stays interesting, so far. :D

We burned through both seasons of Frontier. Good little series, I know you didn't like it as much, but it was decent. Waiting for season three, well actually hoping there is a season three. This is one of those series that are six episodes and is very low on the filler.

Check out "Secret City". Seven or eight episodes and it is pretty darn good. Lots of little twists.

My wife and I watched the first 3 episodes of season 1 of The Crown. It was good, but rather boring, and we have moved on to other things.

The Kominski Method (Season 1, 2018)- The life of an old former actor, now acting coach and his friend the talent agent. Not great but enjoyable enough as Michael Douglass and Alan Arkin find their place in the Netflix old actors retirement home along with several other elderly actors that make guest appearances. :) I think my favorite Alan Arkin movie is the In-laws (1979).

Marvel and Netflix- fun while it lasted.
Brought this reply over from the TV thread:

Don't get me started. The whole Disney pulling it killed off the shows. I wanted to see more of Dare Devil and Defenders.

I believe Jessica Jones S3 is the last "new season" of any of the marvel stuff on Netflix
My impression is that Disney won’t be doing shows like this and not on Netflix, or it would be Disney’s steaming service, Disney Plus (arrives Nov 2019), and I read that Netflix wanted to produce the shows they sponsor for a larger profit margin, so it’s been a pretty good run, with some outstanding shows and some just ok shows. They all seemed to have an appealing story atmosphere. I’ll miss seeing The Marvel content on Netflix, don’t look forward to having to subscribe to another content provider (Disney). So far I have been subscribing to entities like CBS All Access (Star Trek Discovery), and HBO (West World, Game of Thrones) for specific titles. HBO will be facing price pressures. $7 a month ($70 a year) for Disney Plus is not a bad price for hitband run subscribing.

No, it'll go to Hulu. Disney can't begin producing anything for those shows until a set date or they'll get sued by Netflix. Rights of the current short revert to Disney after some time, since Netflix made the shows. The entire deal is so convoluted I gave up explaining it to people. Disney forced Netflix to abide by arbitrary crap, and I and many others suspect it was due to Disney wanting to see how Netflix worked internally.

Another Life (2019 Netflix Original Series)
In the future, a large alien object lands on the Earth. The Earthlings can’t figure out why it arrived, so they send an FTL ship to the planet where they think the object originated.

Has anyone watched this? If so I’d like hear about what you think without spoilers. I’m currently watching Episode 1 and it’s not impressing me, some of the crew conflicts seem off. I loved Katee Sackhoff in you know the show ;) but here, I’m not feeling it. It’s like by 60% of the audience and has been renewed for a second season.
