They might as well have stayed with lightning on this one seeing how it only supports 1st gen Pencil and you need a stupid adapter to charge it.
The port in question on the 10th gen iPad supports 4k video up to 30fps. You can’t do that with 480Mb connection. BTW, max tech is clickbait trash, I can’t believe anyone would believe anything they say.
I suspect the people that are transferring videos or large files have an iPad Pro. I’ve never transferred anything with a cable to any of my Apple devices.I'm not an iPad owner so this is an honest question: How many iPad owners here use the cable to transfer data?
I transfer data on my phone using Wi-Fi or AirDrop. I occasionally move images to a backup drive using Image Capture, so that's a wired connection. That's like twice a year.
But that's about it. New apps, software updates, data/docs/image transfers are mostly done wirelessly. So many people use iCloud for backups, image & video storage, etc., they probably use a wired connection even less than I do.
So for you iPad users out there, does the throughput speed of a wired connection even affect you?
Well I think they probably would have but some government bureaucrat decided what port they needed to use. Apple simply complied with the regulation. They might as well have stayed with lightning on this one seeing how it only supports 1st gen Pencil and you need a stupid adapter to charge it.
Yes and no. Yes because I dream about fast connection. No because I have no other choice than use this old slow crap connection served by Apple. So for you iPad users out there, does the throughput speed of a wired connection even affect you?
AFAIK, iPhones don't even output video via the port so I can't see it needing anymore than USC 2.0A preview of the iPhone 15

Video outputs from the port.. but more importantly, ProRes takes up A LOT of space… we need usb C 3.2 speeds otherwise the phone is a paperweightAFAIK, iPhones don't even output video via the port so I can't see it needing anymore than USC 2.0
You are fully right - the only use case I see is a wall mounted iPad with an ethernet connection.I suspect the people that are transferring videos or large files have an iPad Pro. I’ve never transferred anything with a cable to any of my Apple devices.
Wouldn’t that all go via iCloud or airdrop?Video outputs from the port.. but more importantly, ProRes takes up A LOT of space… we need usb C 3.2 speeds otherwise the phone is a paperweight
So the current iPhones are paperweights?Video outputs from the port.. but more importantly, ProRes takes up A LOT of space… we need usb C 3.2 speeds otherwise the phone is a paperweight
Yeah, because Apple’s history is of exacting retribution on their customers. That’s why they are so popular. They will use slow USB C port out of spite even if for no other reason.
