How do you turn off auto update for the HomePod? Or it it the same thing as the iOS auto update toggle?
My fact stating is not an issue, your insecurity is. I’m sorry you were fooled into buying a speaker that only plays what apple lets you play. Lmao. When people post stuff like this I always wonder if they feel better about themselves after.
The little house icon in the home app. Upper left hand corner
Why is he in charge of software again? Everything that has been released in Sept. on has been filled with bugs. All four HomePods are dead. Thanks, Apple. Thanks, Craig Federighi. Google doesn’t even need to try. Apple is beating themselves up.
All 24 of my Homepods are now bricked!!
The real issue is that you don’t have a HomePod but you feel compelled to come to this forum and make fun of people who do as if that’s helping the situation in anyway. My fact stating is not an issue, your insecurity is. I’m sorry you were fooled into buying a speaker that only plays what apple lets you play. Lmao.
Why didn’t you update like a dozen of them first to make sure everything was good? 16 max.
Mine updated fine but the voice recognition feature doesn´t work for any other voice but my own. It just keeps saying “I did not recognise this voice. Who are you?”. It also feels slower to respond.
Glad it didn’t brick mine though.
They need to start hiring outside the Bay Area. Nobody wants to live there and they dont pay near enough for people to have a decent lifestyle. The pain of firmware. Phones, routers, other networking gear, watches, other wearables, refrigerators...
I've never actually had a firmware update brick anything and I've even installed some third-party firmwares on older routers. With that said, even since the days of flashing my BIOS, I've always held my breath during the process. "Will this thing wake up in a usable state ever again?"
And I see no shortage of people griping about "quality control." This issue is going to probably continue to get worse for everyone—not better. The more complex soft/firmware becomes, the more unknown states exist that cannot be reasonably tested.
If this is some obvious thing that they do test for, QC is at fault. However, that does not appear to be the case or the problem would likely be more widespread. QC failure at this point would be not making a test case for whatever caused this issue.
STILL NOT SWITCHING TO SAMSUNG, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT OR WHATEVER.
As if the grass is somehow greener over there...
I did; two of them. Worked great for cooking. Alarms haven’t worked in awhile though.
Yeah man, lmao I'm really worried about what an internet stranger thinks of my buying decisions LMFAO.My fact stating is not an issue, your insecurity is. I’m sorry you were fooled into buying a speaker that only plays what apple lets you play. Lmao.
Geez...give it a break. Have you worked with technology before? It happens sometimes. The difference is Apple will fix it. Patience. This isn't bricking a Mac or Laptop. Chances are it's not an emergency. Is it good? No. is it the end of all Apple technology? No. And Google has what exactly to d with this? They take all your information and sell it whether their products work or not.All four HomePods are dead. Thanks, Apple. Thanks, Craig Federighi. Google doesn’t even need to try. Apple is beating themselves up.
I've been fortunate that both of my HomePods updated without any problems.
I installed iOS 13.2 before installing HomePod 13.2.
I'm pretty sure i know what you're talking about, and that was resolved a while ago.I did; two of them. Worked great for cooking. Alarms haven’t worked in awhile though.
Just checked and it looks like the update is downloading. Any way I can stop it or make sure it doesn’t update?
