Same here, the AirPods are poor for music. I got the BeatsX first and love the rich bass they give, got some AirPods at Christmas for use with Podcasts and handsfree calling which they work great at but the music sounds like its coming from a tin can, just no bass at all.

Simply turn them upside down mate.
Will match Solo 3 sound.

Ordered! love the first gen Airpods, buying these was a no brainer for me since i use mine everyday!

they are making all of the announcements before the event) should we also expect the airpower to get announced in the next 4 days?)

I was hoping for something workout worthy that won't be bothered by sweat. Will the Beats line ever get updated?

I’ve been considering these if I actually go for the AirPods. BUT don’t they require you to take them off every time you need to put the AirPods in the case?

Also, if yes, is there a third party case that has room for the silicone buds to stay on the AirPods permanently and still fit inside the case?

No design change. I was HOPING perhaps a slight design in the bud to fit ears better (I know they fit many fine, some of us have problems) . I am VERY shocked new colors haven't been released though. (Black, Fog, even a (Product) Red).

Maybe the only good thing about the lack of new design change, those silicone covers on Amazon, other sites will fit these also. For us that have that problem with the pods coming loose...or we're constantly fiddling around with them, these covers have been a Godsend!

**NO I do not work with them. I picked these up a few weeks ago and the Pods finally just stay in my goofy ears! :)

Upgraded too. Wish they came in black though, but still sound like a decent upgrade from Gen 1.

does anyone know of a utility like coconut battery that can reveal the specs of my 2+ year old airpods? i know they don't last that long anymore but it would be helpful to see the specs before upgrading.

Can’t wait to see what they’ll show tomorrow and Friday. It’s as if they’re counting down to Showtime!

iPod Touch tomorrow
Finally on Friday...the long-awaited AirPower.???
** After...how many months? 16 I think - I am shocked these Air Power pads will be released with so SO many other options out there now, and far less expensive.

Just a guess, but it fits this daily trend of new products announced every day this week so far.

I own a pair of BeatsX and AirPods and while I love the sound isolation and better quality of the BeatsX I use my AirPods most of the time. The cable is so annoying while I'm outdoors, so I only use them at office when I'm watching stuff like online courses to block external noises.
AirPods are way better for phone calls, people complained about my voice when I took calls with the BeatsX and are really happy I switched to AirPods.
I'd love an in ear version of AirPods, it would combine the freedom of having no wires with the sound isolation I love so much about my BeatsX.

This.

I lost my AirPods a week or two ago and decided to try the Jabra Elite Active 65ts. These are actually great feature-wise (same ease of paring and hard controls) and sound great with music. Not so much for calls. I have not had any complaints from the other end of the call but I can't stand talking with them in. The sealed ear canal messes me up as I hear myself talking. The open-ish concept with the AirPods solves that.

I've decided that pods or buds are either good for music OR calls. I don't think that it will be possible, for me, to get great sound (music) from a pair that are also comfortable to use in hours-longs calls.

I do think the sound on the AirPods is good enough for casual listening so I'll probable buy back in and ditch the Jabras. (I have a set of Angle & Curve Carboncans for when I really want to listen to music.)

On a separate note, does the wireless case have a lighting connection too? I would think so but I can't see one in the pictures and can't find that in the specs. It would king of suck for travel if they couldn't use a wire to charge...

EDIT: Never mind. They do. It's right there in the product description.

FWIW

Yeah, that is the downside of these. You need to take some time to fit the covers on before use, take them off to charge. For me, it's not a huge deal..heck I wasn't really using the AirPods without covers because they simply didn't fit in my ears, they were just sitting here collecting dust and I almost gave them away as a Birthday gift.

Amazon does have silicone covers that WILL fit in the case without taking them off, but the reviews on those are not that great.
