There's no means to adjust the fit - it's a terrible product by design.
everyones ears are different. You can buy aftermarket accessories to keep them in.

My wife has some Bluetooth headphones that come with all the different size cups and wings but all the wings hurt her ears and won't stay in. So even including all that stuff for adjustment they still don't work for everyone.

The charging case is included for $159.

But since when does two qualify as “too many choices”? Consumer confusion and frustration? You can’t be serious. Are you posting from some kind of script or something?

$159 with the wired case, $199 for the wireless. A real head scratcher, right?

How do people choose what to have for breakfast in the morning? Which clothes to put on? What to watch on Netflix? Which restaurant to go to? Which way to turn at an intersection... left? right? straight ahead?

AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!... too many choices... can’t decide... maybe I’ll just put it in reverse and back up... nope there’s a car behind me... brain exploding... WHERE’S MY SAFE SPACE!!!!????... why is there smoke coming out of my ears? YIKES, I guess I’ll just turn off the engine and order door dash... I’m sure they deliver to Central and Elm.

so you understand my point. You don't need to agree but this is a discussion a lot of people have about business and the way Apple specifically has operated successfully where others haven't.

airpods are a single product. Just an optional accessory to charge wirelessly. So while I have read all the steve jobs biographies and am familiar with his four quadrant philosophy I don't think that applies to having an optional case. And the new airpods completely replaced the old ones rather than offering two different products concurrently.

I do think there are too many damn ipads though. Made more confusing that only the apple pencil 2 works on the new pros but the pencil 1 works on the new air and mini. The iphone xr is one too many imo and the iphone naming scheme got a little out of hand.

You just know that once Airpower is available, they'll announce that these cases are not compatible.

Airpower-compatible cases will available for $119.
If that were the case then airpower wouldn't work with anything since the iphone and watch both use Qi as does the airpods. Clearly apple wants to stick with Qi.

Wouldn't really surprise me either. They'll claim it's a new feature of the iPhone 11.

It’s terrible if it doesn’t fit you, agreed. But that doesn’t make it a terrible product any more than a pair of shoes only available in size 13 is a terrible product. It’s great if it fits.

Not defending him, but I’ve tried all the aftermarket accessories and they don’t work great (still loose for me), and, more importantly, they render the case useless. You have to remove the add-ones every time you put the AirPods back in the case. It’s a real pain.

It almost seems like a better deal to get the $160 version and then if you want a second charging case (say one for home and one for work) then get the wireless case for $80 for a total of $240.

If you get the $200 wireless from the get go and then want a second charging case you are looking at $280.

I suppose if you've got charging pads all over the place ... then I guess maybe not, but folks typically have cords ...

You are entitled to your opinion, but claiming they are a terrible product because they don't fit you is just ridiculous. How about :

Shoes that don't fit properly?
Shirts that don't fit properly?
Glasses that don't fit properly?

I could go on and on....out of curiosity, what do you use?

Poor AirPods sound quality to a great degree is a result of the design (no sound isolation). Since the design has not changed, it's unlikely the sound quality is any different (even if specs say otherwise).
The specs of the new AirPods claim superior sound quality over the original AirPods? Where did you see that?

"superior sound quality" is not a spec, it's an advertising. When I say that the design did not change I refer to the fact that AirPods still do not use in-ear design.

i was critical about the AirPods2 yesterday if anyone remembers my post from yesterday. i was so mad about the lame 2.0 i actually went out during lunch time and bought myself a pair of Bose SoundSport Free. it sounded great until i went to the gym today with them. they kept falling out from my ears and they are so much bigger than the AirPods. i gave in to Apple and just ordered a pair of AirPods 2.0 without the charging case LOL.

Dang... the Bose fell out with the in-ear silicone tips and the ear hooks?

I still don't understand why people pay so much for what is exactly the same sound-wise as the standard included earphones. I got the BeatsX and they are cheaper and have way better sound, combined with the W1 Chip!

It’s all about preference. I use my airpods mainly for working out and they fit my comfort and requirements better.

yep, they sure do. i had to constantly secure them while running on treadmill, not fun.

Crazy talk. I know from these forums that the only earbuds worth selling are ones with customizable fit and in-ear design. You must be new here.

Just kidding of course. I applaud your willingness to tell of your experience. I dislike in-ears because, in my experience, they work their way loose no matter what size or material tips I try. AirPods, on the other hand, just sort of hover on the edge of my ears and stay. Different strokes for different folks!

Shoes, shirts & glasses can all be ordered at the right size.

I use Bose SoundSport for the gym, and Bose QC 35 & QC 30 for home/travel. I also use some Sony WF-1000X earbuds which are very similar to the AirPods but are far more discrete and have noise cancellation.
