I bought one yesterday from the Apple website. Had to refuse the delivery today! Hope the new ones come out quickly as I need a pair!!
Give a black and other color options and keep the price the same. I am hoping Apple throws a dog a bone on these.
With the iPad now not having a headphone jack, they’d better hurry up. There are going to be a lot of annoyed customers who will buy the current AirPods, only to discover a much improved version a few moths later...

The white color is the branding. These are wearables. They market themselves. Black do not.

What do you mean by 'Apple won't give me a new case'. You mean they won't sell you a new case? Or you're trying to get a free replacement.
I ask because I also put my AirPods through the wash, the AirPods survived but the case didn't.....
If Apples latest pricing on updated products is any indicator, I will be skipping the "Hey Siri" version of Airpods.
I really hope that the AirPods 2.0 case has some sort of beacon speaker. Find my AirPods is almost completely useless because it only works if the AirPods are out of the case and you know where the case is. If you have your AirPods in the case and want to find where you left it, you’re out of luck. Find my AirPods won’t connect until you find the case and open the lid. Well... thanks for nothin.
I’m totally okay with that. Just release the damn things already. I’ve been waiting for a second generation for way too long and at this point I can’t bring myself to buy the first gen. Had I known a year ago they still wouldn’t have a 2nd generation I would have bought them then but I couldn’t bring myself to fork out the cash. As I waited longer and longer I was more convinced I wanted them but more convinced I should wait for gen 2. I’m sure Apple has done a **** ton of research on pricing but in my simple opinion I would be far more likely to buy a product mid-cycle if they reduced the price as the product gets older. It doesn’t really matter what they charge initially but if they’re still charging the same price 2 years later for dated technology it gives the consumer the feeling of being ripped off.

Some more interesting tidbits here about health related potential for the new version. Just bought mine after the Apple announcement and returned them hoping these come out before X-mas.

I don't get why they've only been available in white, considering all their other products come in multi colors.
What would be cool is if they also color matched these with their other products i.e. space grey, silver, gold.
Or even Nike branded/colored ones. Perfect look for the gym etc. and perfect match for Nike Apple Watch bands.
But I would be very happy with black ones.
But they wouldn't need to register a new Bluetooth device if it was only a new case.
I wonder if they'll just launch the new AirPods and stop selling the older ones or if they'll have two price points. If there are only small differences there is not point in selling the old ones, to keep both on the store they ought to have some clear differentiation.
Sell me a new case. They need to verify the seriel number and it’s not on my order anywhere.
Not sure why we need all this health or biometric features on AirPods.. I just want it to do one thing - PLAY AUDIO AND PLAY IT WELL (GOOD SOUND AND MAYBE NOISE CANCELLING).

Yeah it seems odd and is almost certainly a misread by whoever originally started that rumor. Apple Watch is an effective biometric sensor because you wear it 12-18 hours a day. AirPods going in and out of your ears for at most a few hours a day, and not necessarily every day, are a total miss for bio.
What is your reason for honestly thinking this? If you have none - or you’re thinking it because some rumor site told you Apple won't add controls, there’s not much reason to post.
I just got a pair. LOVE them. I actually love them more than my iPhone X. p.s. why can't we tap them for volume up/down?
And why do we need Hey Siri for AirPods? If I say Hey Siri my phone responds. So what's the benefit of AirPod Siri?
EDIT: I guess Siri for watch is for people with watchOS cellular.
Also what's the range on these AirPods? I placed my phone on a bench and went to the other side of the park and I was still getting my music which was amazing. A small neighborhood park in Japan but still not a short distance.

This is welcomed news.
My AirPods drain in 30 minutes. Switching pods is inconsistent causing occasional drops in sound.
I prefer consistency and longer battery life.
I welcome BT5.
