Isn't it great. After they weren't announced at the Apple event on October 30th, I went and bought a pair. Serves me right.

I've been holding out for these, and I really hope they come out soon. And please, make them available in different finishes to better match your other existing Apple Products. I own just about everything in Space Gray except for my iMac, since that color is only available for the Pro models. I would love to have SG AirPods 2 to go with my iPhone. I understand white is an iconic color for Apple, but they have released several other products in a variety of color, so I'm sure its possible. Remember when the very 1st iPod came out? It was only available in white, after that they came out with new iPods that were available in different colorways. SG AirPods would look so damn sexy and won't stand out like a sore thumb like the white ones.

I lost my Airpods last week on a trip so had to replace them today, even though I know new ones are coming. Be nice if they arrived in the next 14-days so I could swap them out during the return window, but when they ship (which I am guessing will be with AirPower if that remains a thing), I'll upgrade and keep the ones I bought today as a spare if the updates are worth it to me. Worst case, I have fresh batteries in them now.

COME ON. I seriously waited months to see if Apple would announce in September or October and just took the plunge.

I love them but I mean come on. Don't release them days after I got my Airpods.

But then we could just wait and wait and wait for everything in life as there are always rumours telling us a new version is on its way. I brought the Xs max and a day later on this very site were iPhone X 2019 rumours.

The AirPods (v1) just great now. Sod whatever enhancements V2 brings....

If they include the rumored water proofing (at least more so than the current ones - you can put them on with wet ears right after a swim), that would be enough for me - could care less about AirPower

The above video, narrated by and including Jony Ive, is a quick look at what Apple put in to the design of the original EarPods in 2012. They really didn’t say “screw everyone else”. They thoughtfully looked at human ear shape and tried to make something that would fit as many ears as possible.

or their study of thousands of ears resulted in a compromise that doesnt fit anyone properly, but everyone sorta ok. Fitting one item to a thousand samples is a fun mission of compromise.

You'll be waiting for a long time. The beauty of the AirPods are their simplicity. Apple won't bloat them with any controls. You can use voice, the iPhone, or the crown on an Apple Watch.

Or maybe they could just improve the interface controls. Got these for my mom, and double tapping to answer calls, hang up, or invoke Siri to make one, is inconsistent at best. Unreliable at worst.

The hard plastic design of the ear tips does not conform to the inside of everyone's ears. It seems like Jonathan Ive had the current AirPods molded to fit his own ears and said "screw everyone else".

Newer AirPods should use interchangeable gel tips. The case should also fit AirPods with the largest tips attached.

The original apple design were the best fitting earphones that I have encountered.

Guessing AirPods 2 and AirPower will release at the same time. Probably just a store update, so orders don't come in so quickly due to low supply at first. Quietly hitting that 2018 date.

Charging $200 for a decent set of wireless headphones that can be used with a cable when the battery is flat isn't courageous. $200 for a set of completely disposable wireless earphones that are trash when the battery wears out however is.

The original apple design were the best fitting earphones that I have encountered.

Different people have different definitions of "fit". Hip-hop gangstas wearing sagging blue jeans with butt cracks exposed may think those jeans fit well.

Been waiting for the new ones to come out before buying. Since Apple did not mention these at the October event, I’m springing for the next good deal I see. If the new ones come out before Christmas, I’ll take em back.
