Animations are off. I dont notice it every time but when i do it happens while i am scrolling or when i have my thumb laid down about to scroll and then the scroll will start vibrating.
Out of curiosity, same behavior when animations are on as well (if you tried it or might try it)?

Goodness, it reeks of Apple fanboy ism and placebo effects in this thread.... Sure "Reduce Motion" option being ON eliminates the animations we've come to know on iOS 7 but in exchange we get an awkward, just as slow "dissolve" animation. On top of that, this "fix" is still plagued with that "split second" delay which keeps the user from interacting with the next screen. It's safe to say that this fixed "Reduce Motion" option was only to cater to those who were getting "sick" with the animations and NOT for us that wanted that quick, fluid screen interaction some of us miss from iOS 6. Apple needs to "borrow" from Android again and bring the Developers options from that platform which would enable the user to adjust the animations to their liking.

IMO the animation when you open up the app switcher really looks out of place now. It should have a similar dissolve animation.

Yes I agree. The faster dissolve effect is welcome but the whole OS feels a bit inconsistent now. A bit of a mish mash like Android. Hopefully in 7.1 there's a bit more consistency. Especially with the multitasking.

Nothing is quicker with those amateurish fade animations, dont be ridiculous. It just looks silly. Now i need to have parallax on to have zoom in/out animations which i like. This sux.

The new reduced animations in 7.0.3 are so much better then the slow trickle animations of the past. Everything is 2-5x faster to accomplish now. I can tap on a folder and interact with the icons instantly, I can get to the home screen twice as fast. Finally Apple gets it right with animations, might not even need to JB now.

Everything you just said makes complete and total sense. I award you all points and victory.

Its definitely faster. Open a folder. You can interact with the folder instantly, whereas before you had to wait for the zoom to complete. The unlock to home is also way faster. Its literally faster with this update.

iPad 3 here with animations ON. Rotating in iMessages and Mail seem to be a lot smoother than before, keyboard input seems snappier as well. Home screen rotation stills lags but is better than before. Pinch to home is still awkward. Can anyone else confirm these changes?

I couldn't agree more. I got so sick of the slow fly-in effects, so I've always had them on reduced. Wow, I updated and the first unlock was amazing. I love what Apple did. I'm never turning the regular animations back on again.

Thank you Apple! You won my heart with this update!

Animations are fine. What's not fine is the dropped frame rates when using the close gesture going to the home screen. It looks terrible. Fix it.

So, they basically give you 2 options:
1) Laggy animations
2) No animations at all?

Thats what Im getting from seeing the video (my IP5 says up to date 7.0.2)

Thats BS! I like the animations, but NOT the dang FPS slow down, nor the speed.

How is the screen rotation? Still crap?

I agree, this is not an ideal solution. They should've just sped up the normal animations.

I'm glad Apple listened to me.

I was pretty much the very first person to report this major problem to Apple by sending in the two videos that I posted on YouTube months ago. Even got a reply from the engineering team.

:)

I appreciate your efforts making your original post, so I say good-naturedly that the issue was posted on July 13, 2013 in this thread: Animations need to go or be fixed .

Too long before that would have been a crystal ball. ;)

How do you figure that its faster? Seriously, am I missing something here? I dont find them any faster at all. Maybe by .0000000001 seconds. No but seriously what am I doing wrong?

Turn on Reduce Motion in Accessibility. Instead of fading in/out, it dissolves now, like iOS 6.

Fading appears snappier perhaps simply because you don't see any movement and just get to where you are from one screen to another. However, there are places where it does really seem faster, like when unlocking, or opening a folder, where things appear almost instantly and you can interact with them almost instantly (or at least faster than with the regular animations).

Great so I have to get rid of a feature to get a feature? How is this a fix. Freaking Apple. I like the fly in and out animations, just wish they could be faster. And I also like parallax.

Reduce motion isn't really a feature as much as it is an accessibility setting that is there for those that might be sensitive to motion and experience some physiological effects from it--as there are people like that. A lot of people use it as a feature just based on preferences, but the underlying reason why it's there isn't really for those reasons that aren't related to accessibility.

I agree..."Feature" "Fix" whatever....

Apple, as far as scrolling and GUI, is basically no better than android now.

I wonder what it is about eye candy animations and stuttering/low FPS? Android has always been plagued by this. Now, Apple is also the same. Either turn off the liveliness, or deal with glitchy.

Or, in other words, sterile.:(

People do not understand that "Reduce Motion" means reduce motion, not reduce speed or reduce duration. It only reduces the MOTION of the transition, or in other words, the zooming effect (also parallax is motion too). As far as time, the fade transition takes just as long as the zoom transition, it is not any faster. Apple did not make the transitions faster with the 7.0.3 update.

What Apple SHOULD have done is allow the screen to be active during the transition itself, for example during the unlock fly-in transition. This is how it was in iOS 6, you unlock the phone and you can swipe the home screen WHILE the apps are flying into place. If they bring that to iOS 7, I think many people will be happier (myself included).

If you mean free of motions and animations that are completely unnecessary to the actual functionality of the phone and sometimes even get in the way of users who use their phone quickly to do what they need/want to do--then, sure.

Again, I don't know, it seems that at least with some interactions, like opening and interacting with a folder, for example, things are actually faster.

Could yall, eye candy haters, just drop it already? Believe it or not, but many people LIKE the animations. Stop being such a robot...A Dwight Shrewt (The Office).

So what if it only serves to entertain my eyes...No reason to either:
1)Leave it all android like (laggy/glitchy)
2)Sterilize it
