I'm upset. I liked how it zoomed in and out. But I didn't like the background moving. So now I have to choose whether I want the zoom in and out/background moving. Or no zoom and no background movement.

I think is impossible to have all people pleased by apple.
They were addressed by storms of whiners/pukers complaining about animations and they did a rather good job here.

I surely hope apple engineers are employed to fix much more important issues or bring something new.
Much ado about nothing here ...

My two cents ...

I am serious. The apps appear and are usable faster then before. Especially when unlocking the phone and opening folders. Also, apps immediately appear and I can start reading, processing, etc right away instead of waiting for the zoom to complete.

It's faster. End of story.
Yup, there are definite differences at least when it comes to how quickly you can interact with folders as well as how quickly a previously opened app will appear when you open it again. There might not be that much of a difference in timing or interaction with various other actions, but definitely some noticeable difference with at least a few of them.

Some people are detail oriented and some people aren't. You can't notice it's faster.. That's your problem.

It's faster for sure.

do you have a side by side comparison proving that it's faster???

Honestly just curious because many people claimed that iOS 7 animations were slower than iOS 6, when in a side by side comparison iOS 7 was usually faster. There is a difference between peoples perception and reality, so just curious if you have any actual proof that it's faster, or if you are just saying it is?

Here's a quick comparison:

this compares iOS 6 to iOS 7, which we already know perform pretty similar. Some apps are slightly faster on 6, some slightly faster on 7, for the most part they are about the same.

I want to see a comparison between iOS 7 with motion on and motion off to see how drastic the speed difference is, if there even is a difference, or if people are again claiming things because they THINK they are seeing something.

I much more prefer the animations. They never bothered me . I turned Reduce Motion ON and could not use it more then a few seconds. Feels weird! But am glad Apple added the option for these who did not like animations.

Sorry shared the wrong video. 7.0.2 and 7.0.3 compare. :) It's not drastic, but it's definitely close to instantaneous. Had a big ol' debate in the office today about this. Haha.

The irony is that you, Max(IT), come across as one of the biggest whiners.

Apple and its engineers validated the issue with the zoom animations by fixing it promptly. They deemed it important. Are you now calling Apple and its engineers a bunch of idiots too?

In the end, all of us "pukers" were right, you and the rest of the bashers were wrong. Humbly accept that you were wrong and move on...

My two cents...

Bear in mind that I'm still using my good old iPhone 4.. but with these new animations its so much quicker! Everything opens faster for me and the update definitely improved the speed of NC and CC as well. I was so close to buying a 5 until the 6 came out, but now I think I can hang on. It's pretty much as quick as iOS 6 was now.

Agree so much. 7.0 was a piece of crap on my 4S but now with 7.0.3 everything is so fluid! I was so close to buy a 5S but now Ill think Ill hang on until 6

7.0.3 is great update - it deleted 7.0.2 that automatically downloaded to my devices before and so far did not try to download automatically. I got back disc space that was taken by 7.0.2, thankfully apple is quick to learn from mistakes and correct them. :D

This is what ios was supposed to be like i seriously HATE those damn animation and reduce motion finally fixes how i like to use my iphone 5.
I want usability not something that looks fancy with all kind of stupid animations.

Nothing is faster. Try to unlock and slide homescreen pages instantly, you cant, you still have that .5 sec lag, waiting animation to finish. You just dont see the animation.

I liked my motion back ground and I really didn't mind the new animations but these fade ones are so fast its ridiculous. I actually like the way it fades too.

As one that suffers from motion sickness due to the zooming in/out animations, thank you Apple for listening.

Nice one apple. For me moving backgrounds and fancy animations provide absolutely no added value. Its only annoying, especially on the ipad where one feels one is traveling through a sickening tunnel of apps when playing around.

Im still annoyed with the delay when pressing the home button to unlock.

like many others i use my iphone as my watch and that delay is annoying when you want to quickly inquire about the time.
