New Apple Leather Case

Ordered the red one from CPW. Will use it in my silver/white 5, an maybe a gold 5S if I get one.

Hoping that it doesn't stain off being in/out my pocket though, also hope it's not too tight for taking off, as I'll not be using it at work as will get dirty.
 
I'm not a big fan of cases, but the other day when I was in the Apple store I decided to go ahead and get the black Apple case. Found a seating area out in the mall and fitted it on to my iPhone 5. Felt very snug and secure and it certainly felt nice in the hand. I didn't care for how it covers the on/off button, though, and I also was a little concerned about lint building up when I have the phone in-and-out of my pockets. Wandered on down to the AT&T store and found that they had the 64 GB Space Grey iPhone, so traded in my 32 GB iPhone 5 for it. While waiting for the salesman to do something with paperwork, I tried to get the black Apple case off my iPhone 5. No luck! Finally had to have the salesman do it, and he had to use something to gently pry one edge up first. At home I keep my iPhone naked, and so when the salesman asked about putting the case on the new phone, I said no, because I had just decided that it was too much of a hassle and wouldn't work well with my lifestyle and the way I use my iPhone. After finishing up at AT&T I went back to the Apple store and returned the case. No point in spending $40 on something I wasn't totally happy about.

Now I've ordered a Sena UltraSlim Classic in orange. That should suit my needs much better. In the meantime I'll keep using the old Fortte case I had for my first-gen iPhone.
 
Well I guess I should've saw this coming lol.

After about 3 days of normal use of the red case on my white phone, it's already starting to show dark stains around the edges. Not sure if it's from me putting it in my pocket or on my table but I thought that happened a lot sooner than it would've.

I still love the case though even if it hard to keep it looking new.
 
What are the chances Apple would release a more durable material like they did with the ipad?

I know leather is nice and luxurious, but I do not want to care for a light colored iphone case. I really want the brown, but not if it will look like crap after a couple of weeks.

Do you mean the case is leaving stains on your phone? Or do you mean that the leather is turning dark around the edges?
 
Is there any place other than Apple that sells the leather case? Places like Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc.

Not that I know of. If you can't make it to the Apple Store, just order it off of their website and have it shipped to you.

Today, no.

In a couple/few weeks I'd expect to see them at Walmart and Target just as they carry other Apple branded cables and accessories.
 
If possible, have found buying at a local Apple store - while not the cheapest, the easiest to exchange. With things like cases and accessory items, the ability to bring it back pretty much no questions asked and try a new color, etc. is nice. That cannot always be said of other stores and many mail order places.

The leather is turning dark around the edges.

Inside the case is a microfiber so I don't expect my phone (which has a screen protector anyway) to change colors.
 
The red is definitely the most popular it would seem. I was at the Apple Store today and the red was sold out. They had 2 rails full of each of the other colours.

Blue and beige didn't look as nice as I was expecting from the photos.

Perhaps you could use some leather moisturizer on it.
 
Got my black one today for my space grey phone. It's a winner this one can't fault anything. Perfect fit, Slim, feels good, all the buttons are soft. You can see the grey edge around the phone. They will sell a bucket load of these. Hope they wear well.
Won't fit with my version of the griffin car charger, their is a newer one that will apparently. Will use usb and lightening cable.
Twelve south dock tomorrow.:)

It's made by Hard Graft, the pouch is used for traveling to add as extra protection when storing the phone. It also acts as a stand for the phone.

I would like the pouch not the case, wonder where you could get one that fits the Apple leather case?
 
Loved these Apple leather cases....but such a shame that it wears off in just a few days.

I guess I will hold on to my Vaja case, till apple improves the quality of these cases.
 
I've bought An Apple 5s dock and while reading here on the forum i understood that the leather case from Apple won't fit with the dock.
Soo, i would have bought the case, i had to Peel of the case every evening before docking.

That's why i bought the Sena Ultraslim Classic :)

Beautiful pouch, very nice leather, love it.
