Why is everyone getting upset that the LEATHER case is changing it's appearance as you use it?

That's what good leather SHOULD do. Anyone who knows good leather HATES new leather. It doesn't look good until it's broken in and worn, used, played with, treated, etc. There are whole forums devoted to posting progress pics of breaking in leather with wear and use.

Apple even states on the box something like, "this case is made from genuine leather, it will change appearance as you use it."

Apple finally gives us something to play with and let it show how much we love it and people complain about it not looking spiffy new, when for once, it actually looks better when it's not. Typical.

Here's a pic of new leather that hasn't been broken vs leather with wear that's been broken and and used. Night and day.

New wallet looks much nicer. Old wallet looks ****** and cheap.

Forget about trying to educate them. It's a lost cause. The OCD makes these people forget that leather is supposed to wear over time.

The box for the case even says:

"This case is made from natural aniline leather. Its appearance will change as you us it"

GOD PEOPLE ARE DUMB!! If you don't like that the "appearance will change" then don't buy it and stop your bitching!

I saw a post on here earlier saying that some auxiliary cables do not fit. Can someone verify that this may be an issue?

I want to know before buying as I use many auxiliary cables (Car, Earbuds, and Desk Speakers)

The L-shaped aux cables definitely do not fit. As for the cables shaped like the ones below, you need one with a slim head like the right.

Yes, confirmed. It doesn't plug in all the way to connect.

That's very disappointing as I've just bought both. Thanks anyway. If I get one of those cheap china made lightning female to male extension cable then I guess it'll fit and I will still be able to play digital audio through because my adaptor supports that,. right??

I personally like that the leather is wearing out. It would be weird to me if it didn't, such as my wallet. I'd think it would be fake leather.

Anyways, got the brown case with my gold 5S. Thought about it vs the red to match my iPad smart case, but in the end the brown looks better with the gold ring :)

I've noticed from pics that this case leaves a noticeable gap on the front of the phone. Almost so much that one can see the gold band around the sides (for example) Can anyone say that this is a problem? I feel it'd be a perfect lint trap or gunk trap and I probably won't be able to use it if that's the case.

I've posted about this too-- I went to the Apple store yesterday to ask about it and they said they didn't know if it was normal, so they swapped it out for a new one. Looks exactly the same, so I'm going to say this is the normal shape.

The sides fit tight, if you have gaps i would say it is faulty. If you push the sides out you can make a small gap.
Apple have 14 day return here so if its no good after 13 days use send it back.

Is the 14 day return/exchange policy no questions asks? Like will they still take a damaged case?

My case was having the same issue. I went to exchange it also and the guy said I wasn't crazy and swapped it out and now my case doesn't have any gaps.

Yup. Had no issues exchanging mine. The guy said I can even return my new one within 14 days from yesterday if I don't like it.

Does anybody know of any similar cases made of fake leather?

----------

To remove, I use the same method as the Speck case that was so hard to remove.

Hold the phone upright.
Put fingers on the two top corners
Put both thumbs on the apple logo
Push in with your thumbs

Comes right off

Thanks!

Much better than what I had been doing to get my CandyShell off of the phone (pressing really hard inside of the camera hole, afraid that I would bend the damn phone).

Normal leather wears and ages over time... But this case is extremely thin leather ontop of plastic.... Meaning once it gets slightly worn down it will expose the plastic I think?

One problem. There's no plastic.

I bought the red version on Thursday and while I absolutely love the colour and build, the leather on the edges is already dirty and/or worn.

I believe it's more dirty than worn, but I have a hard time justifying something so expensive when it looks so grubby after only 4 days, especially when I've only used it around my house and office.

Can anyone compare the new Apple leather case to the J Crew leather case if you have experience with them both? The J Crew has been my daily driver for a while now but I'm definitely intrigued by a case design by Apple!
