I was in my local Apple Store today and I noticed a rather interesting observation, where the leather cases are sold and had previously had all of the colours available they now had only the black case on all five racks, I traded my red one in for a black case a week ago and they said it was a regular occurrence, though I notice the case is still sold on the Apple Online Store, anyone else been to a store and noticed this or is it just an isolated incident/stock problem? Since the store is also out of stock of most of the iPhone's and the MacBook Air.

The only negative experience I've had with my blue leather case on black iPhone is people keep asking me if it's a 5C at my College. There's so much marketing for the 5C that when I say no it's a 5S they have no idea what I'm talking about.

I heard shoe polish is the way to go in order to keep the leather looking good. I haven't tried it myself but I'm going to.

For black, use the black Kiwi polish.
For all other colors use neutral.

Apparently after a couple of coats the case will repel dirt and water beautifully while giving the case a bit less of a slippery texture. If it works for leather shoes, why not leather phone cases?

If your case is already dirty, try leather cleaner first.

I hadn’t thought of that but it seems like a good idea. Hopefully as more people try it they will post back good results because I would love to get another brown case. I returned mine on the 14th day because it looked pretty worn already. If this solution works though I might consider getting another brown one or the red one. The brown case on the black iPhone looks really good IMO but I haven’t actually seen the red one in person yet as the Apple store near me didn’t have it.

Thanks. I think the sticker gives it character. I just ordered new black stickers as this one is one piece and I want the stem to be seperate.

I think a black apple sticker would also look really good on the brown case with a black iPhone. I might give it a shot if the shoe polish trick above works out for people. It would be nice if the stock case came with a different color on the Apple but at least with the sticker you have something different that not everybody else has.

Where you guys getting the Apple logo stickers/decals? Ebay?

www.theluckyskins.com has them.

How is them thinking your phone is a 5c a negative experience?

How are these cases wearing? I have heard from some people that they get dirty / worn quite easily?

The lighter colors seem to get dirtier easier which stands to reason. As for wear, this is directly from the Apple site and box - "The iPhone 5s Case is made from natural aniline leather. Its appearance will change over time as you use it."

FWIW I've had a black case on my 5s for a couple weeks now and have not noticed any changes from day one.

Have you read through this thread?

No it's 41 pages long

Coolio. I think perhaps the black is the way to go.

Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated

I love the look of this case - yes it's work, but it's leather and being put into/removed from my pockets 50 times a day. So that's to be expected.

The one thing I hate is that slightly large headphone jacks don't fit properly. Might see how i can go about fixing that this weekend.

Thinking about picking one up, but can't dump my Candyshell. Anybody got a good comparison between the two? I take it the Candyshell would protect it better when dropped.

I have the red. It's dirty black from my fingerprints. Using baby wipe to clean it was a bad idea as it takes the color off. No black in stock at local Best Buy. Is brown any better at hiding the dirt?

I'm torn between the apple leather case and a clear plastic case. Decisions decision :)

I have. But I'm going case free for the next week to see how well it holds up.

Let me know how that goes. I have OCD if the screen gets scratched lol. Don't mind so much about the phone body. Well I do but not so much :)

I've never used one on any of my phone and don't care for the ones I've had the opportunity to handle.

I have used some films. Apart from the pain in getting them on ...no bubbles or dust under them they are okay. But they Don't give the natural feel of the screen

And that is my biggest issue with them as I love the natural feel of the screen. I went 2 years on my 4S without a film and only had a couple very light scratches which were noticeable only with the screen off and if you were looking for them, so I feel very comfortable going without.

You are quite welcome. Black is definitely the way to go if you want to minimize dirt/wear.

I originally had a black case, but sold it, then later got a red and returned it.

Black is definitely the way to go. I wanted something slimmer and clear though.

I may have to go for a front covering case to protect from in bag and pocket damage
