Dropped my phone twice yesterday from 4 ft onto hard flooring. No damage.

Keep us informed on your experiments. How many drop tests will you do today? Smart money is on a screen crack in three more

Didn't drop it on purpose, I was carrying so many things and was emergently taking care of patients. Happy that nothing happened to the phone and attribute that to the case.

My phone dropped when I got out of my friend's car. So, it hit the pavement from lower then waist high.
The case did it's job and protected the phone.
But now the case is a little frayed where it hit.
What is the best way to fix that?
Should I leave it or will a little light sandpaper do the trick?

Has anyone experience the outer layer being torn at all. I literally have babied the thing since I got it and there is already what looks like a gash/peeling of the leather. This is a black case for reference

I have a gash in my red one. I don't know how it even happened but I took some glue and glued it back

My god this has been the problem for me when i had my brown leather case. When i first bought the case and put it on the phone, leather started to peel off. So i returned the case and got another one and i actually dropped my phone screen first with the case on and my phone came off the case adding a tiny scuff to the chamfered edge and when the phone came off it scraped off some leather during impact. I really like the look of these cases but they are poorly made IMO.

Yeh and I'm so careful. I actually heard it snap. There is a thin round metal piece that is supposed to support it I guess. That is still together but the actual leather broke in 2.

So you're saying that under the leather there is a piece of metal for support??

----------

Case is a great fit on the 5A and very. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye. However, the protection is good but not the best. Unfortunately the lip on the front is not big enough to give adequate protection in the event of a face down fall as for the leather the quality is OK but not great Time will tell how well this will hold up. Have read that people are already. Saying that the leather quality is not of great quality but then again what do you expect for $40

My black one is holding up perfectly, zeros issues and got it same day I got the phone which was 4 days after launch. This case in combination with my bodyguardz pure screen protector has been my favorite combination on any phone I've had yet.

After having the black case for a few weeks, and using the leather cleaner/conditioner for my cars seats, it still looks brand new. Holds up well as long as you care for it.

I like the leather case, but it is very hard to remove the phone if you need to take it out. Light blue will get dirty easily, I know, when it happens, I'll see what other case I can buy.

"Keep your iPhone 5s case away from prolonged intense sunlight, heat, and humidity. Exposure to water, oil, makeup, and dyed materials (such as denim) can stain tanned leathers."

What a stupid statement... So what are you going to do?

Yeah ... essentially, don't take the case out of the packaging.

Yes there is a piece of metal that's goes around the connector. At the lip of the case is where it broke. I imagine they only put this support in at the bottom but who knows, maybe it goes around the whole case. I ended up getting another case because I love it so much, but I struggle getting it off. Stinks that it won't fit in speaker dock.

Here's mine with the black case, the ghost glass from Mime and aluminum button

I can't believe it broke after dropping it 5cm up onto my macbook. Very disappointed in the material.

Overall so far so good after treating the case with more care than the naked phone before.

I bought the PRODUCT(RED) version to try something different in color.
It's growing on me!
No wear yet or discoloration yet. WASH THOSE JEANS PEOPLE!
One small tear on the inside near the top right.
Assume its from taking out the phone and putting it back in.

So far so good.

You did a good job but i know how you feel about the leather tearing on a small drop. Had that problem too when taking the phone off the case. To be honest, i took so much care of the case that the phone itself. I wanted a case that would be much more durable so i returned it. I actually miss my brown one, if only the material was better

What does he/she think about the wear? I actually think this looks pretty good on the beige. Dang it, I think I am going to end up buying all the colors when it is all said and done! :apple:

You could always buy a new one and do what I did, spray it with a leather protector. Although I don't know if that will help with drops, it seems to be helping with discoloration.
