wow that red case looks amazing. I have a targus red, hard plastic, but wow I might need to get that red leather case.

looks amazing.

Are you a hand model? If not, I'm quite sure you could find work in the field if you wanted to.

Aw, thank you! That's very sweet of you

No, that is fine. While I do notice some slight wear, the case still looks fantastic compared to others I have seen over the same time frame. I got my wife a red leather case too and Im keeping an eye on that one as well.

I don't mind a small amount of wear, as long as the "blackened leather" look doesn't start happening... It seems like the protector keeps dirt and hand oils from absorbing into the pores of the leather, so at least it won't look dirty. I have been pretty happy with the experiment so far!

BTW, I agree, your hands look perfect. You should be a hand model.

Thank you, you are too kind!

Any members traveling to Cape Town , South Africa , i really want the Red Leather Case, 5s leather cases are not a stock item over here.

Leather Case for iPhone 5S

I bought the black leather case for my iPhone 5S after replacing my Spigen hybrid. I must say, I'm very impressed. It feels very similar to my wallet, albeit a bit more firm. It takes a couple days to get used to and I wish it had a better grip but now I really like the leather feel to it. It's getting better over time. Highly recommended, disregarding the price.

I just picked up the brown one yesterday for my 5. Even after seeing all the praise for it, I was still really skeptical about it. Like you said, the feel takes a bit to get used to, but I'm liking it now way more than I ever thought I would. Price does seem steep, but if it lasts and does it's job, it's worth it.

I am thinking about buying a black as well and good to see you like the case. Price is a little steep, but so is everything apple makes/sells.

One thing I do miss though, is seeing the "space grey" from the clear plastic on the Spigen hybrid. The leather case hides all that so it's just all.... well black. :p

I jus realized I posted my original question in the wrong thread...sorry.

My wife loves the design and feel of this case, but sports a 4S. Does anyone have a recommendation for something similar to that model?

Thanks a bunch and Happy Holidays.

When new, sure. But as it wears it becomes less stiff. It looked great but just didn't provide the level of protection I'd hoped.

Just put a new one on, it feels light and comfortable. When I was buying some bloke behind me showed me his brown case after a month or two use, it looked absolutely dreadful and completely lost its appeal.

Edit: around a week of use and the edges got darker. Supposedly it's normal but just looks grimy to be honest. Not sure if my expectations were different. I may exchange it for a black one and not worry about the brown getting any dirtier.

Again, black is the only way to go when it comes to these cases.

For those getting exchanges or store credit for dirty cases was it in the return period or after? If it was after what did you say for them to replace for free?

My wife's beige looks filthy.

They'll replace them outside of the normal 14 day returns period. Just explain that you've been careful with the case, and it's still dirty and it's just not acceptable.

Thanks! I went in today and asked them about how to clean it and they recommended leather cleaner. They saw how filthy it looked but didn't even blink an eye. I guess I'll have to specifically ask next time.

Yeah, I'm guessing if they think you'll accept it then they won't offer to change it in case (excuse the pun) you realise that it's not perhaps as you intended, or how apple intended it to be.

Got the black one of these today, saw it in the store and had to make it mine! :D

Haha! Hardly. I sprayed it with a leather protector on Day 1 (posted a link a couple pages back).

I had a couple moments when I thought for sure I had ruined it... one was when I set it down in olive oil while cooking, and the other was when a pen in my purse marked on it. But it just rubbed off... it's like the oil and ink were sitting on top of the protector instead of soaking in to the leather

ETA: here's the link, in case you don't want to go hunting for it. Long thread, after all. ;)

That's incredible! Thank you for the tip!

Leather protector spray does not work- I tried it- plus I bought 3 types of protector in case one was not great. The truth is these Apple cases are just a rip off! If they were plastic it would have been better than this crappy leather. Plus the edges are extremely prone to damage where the leather meets the inside of the case. Funny how Apple got rid of the leather in iOS and just encourages us to put it on the outside of the phone instead. Please make them in plastic for iPhone 6. (Similar to Elago Flex cases - which are infinitely better, and no I dont work for them), then I would not have returned 3 of them for a refund!

I've had the black leather case on my 5S space grey for a week or so now and i love it!
It's softened a bit since i had it and feels lovely in the hand now better than the cold metal and sharpness of holding the phone naked. The case almost felt like it had a coating on when it was new and felt almost plasticy but it doesn't anymore.
I've read that the cases don't wear well but i think the black doesn't really suffer or at least you won't notice it as much anyway.
I've also got on it now a retro apple logo sticker on the indent on the back, saw them in another thread somewhere. It looks awesome!

Overall i would say it the best case i've ever had for a phone, i had for a while a Spigen neo hybrid on a 5C and i don't think the leather case provides as much drop protection but looks and feels a lot nicer. Hopefully drops shouldn't be an issue anyway the case provides a nice grip.

Any way to make the buttons easier to hit. Extremely difficult to use for me still after 3 months. Been using assistive touch.

I have the blue one, and yes while it does look and feel nice, and offers really good protection, it does ware out around the edges after a month or two, really looks bad! But its the price you pay for leather.
