New Apple MacBook on Tuesday? GMA X3100?

November 6

ohhhh, come on :apple:! I need the update on November 6th!
I need to buy my macbook next week :(
How long do the macbooks take to arrive in stores after update?

I can't stand at that 'leopard now available' front page at apple.com anymore!!! I want a beautiful and updated macbook banner! :apple:
 
I think I'm going to CompUSA today. I'll buy either the low end or middle MacBook and see how I like it. If it does what I need and they do make a release on the 6th or 13th, I can go get a price adjustment to whatever they're selling the old ones for. If I really want to upgrade to the new one, I can do that, too, as long as it happens by the 13th. If it's after that, I am just out of luck, but I still have a new MacBook and I get to get it now, get Leopard on it and start using it. Call me impatient, but that's my plan :) .
 
Just something interesting, no idea if it would mean anything:
In the German online store the blackbook and the entry leven white macbook show 7 days until they would be sent out, the middle one says 24 hours.
That just sounds interesting in combination with the thoughts that some of you had on apple cutting out one of the three since there would be not enough difference once they all get superdrive.

Quite a keen observation. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
 
I'm thinking if it is just a speed bump shipping times won't matter.
If you have one on order and they announce a modest upgrade they will just ship the new model. Who's going to complain?
 
I'm thinking about changing to a Mac, however I got a small question. Did they raise the prices when they last updated their MBs?

same here :) i'm buying the next MBP with ssd flash -Leopard loaded :p
 
However long it will be, I will have to wait, as I am not going to buy the current MB now without the free Ipod.

I know what you mean man. I'm a PC guy ready to make the switch after playing with some of my friends macbooks. Absolutely love them. I've been watching ebay for about two months trying to get a cheap one then read all the rumors about a month ago. Been waiting for a month now on a new macbook and i'm about to crack as well. I wish :apple: would just throw us a bone. I mean give us a freakin hint or something.:eek:

If they do this, it will be harder for them to get rid of current MB models.

I HOPE Apple releases them Nov 6th but if I'm Apple I'm waiting until Nov 13th. It makes for sense to wait. You get the 14+ days outside of the Leopard release and you'll probably get a few people who are waiting on the updated version to cave and they might not pay the 10% restocking fee.

That being said. Apple release them on the 6th!!!!!!!

Yeah I know an announcment before hand would definately cause people to wait to buy which wouldn't make sense business wise. I'm just getting frustrated. I hate waiting:mad:
 
I thought I'd give everyone a daily affirmation to give us strength to keep waiting strong for the updates

But what would MacRumors users do if they didn't constantly set themselves up for shattering disappointment every couple of weeks or so?

SR, Speedbump, X3100, Superdrives. Lord have mercy I have set the bar painfully low, Apple. Come on now.

I know what you mean. My wife and I were in the Apple store this weekend and after 5 minutes she comes out and says "I really love the new Leopard. It's really nice." This from a PC lifer. <3<3<3

I grew up with Macs and I am soon to be a Mac switcher-backer too!

You did set the bar low - I heard that Apple is planning on including Blu Ray burners in the new MacBooks, and then to be competitive and maintain product differentiation, they will release the MacBook Pros with as-yet-unannounced-nor-invented HVD drives. Oh, and both models will run on Magical Skeleton Power™. :cool:

But then look at the iMac (which has been updated)

and the PowerMac.
