They would be a bigger hit if the MacBook wasn't stuck in 2006.What do you mean notebooks aren't exactly holiday gift material? Aside from iPods, Apple's consumer notebooks have always been big hits for the holidays. At least in recent history.
Maybe a special Halloween MacBook release? Orange and black aluminum?
Apple also has a record of announcing new laptops after the back to school season as well.Sure there may be a few changes meant to inspire new purchases, but I have to agree with those that reminded me that Apple likes to offer new laptops for graduation/back to school markets. Announce at Macworld, release in May/June.

Isn't MacWorld for Consumers, not Pro? I still believe in November 13th for the MacPro.

Mac-less since May...Spot on. Apple cannot possibly continue beyond November to charge $1100-$1500 for a laptop with a chipset and GPU that is A YEAR AND A HALF old, or older, just because it's cool looking and has OSX. The Apple premium only goes so far when it comes to technology.

Why on earth would you announce something 5 months before you release it?
I dunno, they didn't do that with the iPhone did they?

That is a pretty incredible remark. Care to justify it?
