I'm really not interested in getting into a shouting match with anyone over whether I did or didn't actually get an email. I don't mind if you guys want to take it with a pinch of salt.

Thanks for posting that. Some of the people at MacRumors can't handle rumors (weird huh) on top of original rumors, I'm sure they weren't trying to debunk you.
:p

For the record, I was not trying to bunk/debunk you, I was just offering a possible explanation. Obviously like everyone, I hope the models come soon rather than in 6 years! :)

someone mentioned this before but they were were...

....look at the gallery on this link....and look at the picture of the inside of a house

on the floor...it looks like the mock ups weve seen of the new macbooks!!

a little clue?? hmmmmm

Yes, I think this is probably the third or fourth time that this picture has been posted as speculation for the new Macbook design. It does look similar to a lot of the Alu Macbook mock-ups though.
I'm pretty sure that we will see the Macbook speed-bump within the next two weeks, and then probably the announce of the Alu Macbook in May 2008.
Everything looks pretty hopeful for the SR Macbook update very soon, but I'm not too bothered about the new Alu design. :)

Yep. Totally with you. Ready to be pleasantly surprised but totally with you. Apple also likely wants to work on the wifi issue before anything else goes aluminum.

I for one am not ga-ga for a new design. I would buy it as is regardless of a redesign so longsies as there is a new GPU and SR.

To sum up:

A new MacBook will be released, in the mixed aluminum/black format, in six years. I can't wait!

You are reading too much into this. Look at the iMac in that drawing. Why would Apple create this "schematic" displaying an unreleased Macbook but what is now an outdated design for the iMac? Nope I think this is just a case of it being small enough in the picture that you can use your imagination to believe it is what you want to see.

101% agreed :p
i cant even see any aluminum there :p

This forum is getting more and more ridiculous. We're seriously dissecting a picture for apple tv? What is the hope, that apple slipped a clue in there? I'm not being a dick if it sounds that way. I'm just laughing here because we're THAT desperate; we all want a mb so badly we're going crazy and going to extremes lol.

yes sorry you're right...it IS shadow

i'm just trying to be ridiculously optimistic! although i really can't see the new design coming any later than january 2008....may is ridiculous

we've heard numerus rumours from "reliable sources" since like may about a new design this september/october/november

and since it's the last white plastic product left...AND the most popular out of the computers AAAAND i really cant see them updating in twice between now and january...a little ridiculous no?

Your join date explains it all - you're new here. :p Once you've been around a bit longer you'll see that this is the norm and pretty much expected here on MacRumors. This happens all the time, trust me. ;)

Maybe you're right. I did tell the guy that I was waiting for a newer model. I had tried to cancel on friday, the cancellation wouldn't go through on their machines, so they put some kind of block on the order so it wouldn't be shipped, then submitted a cancel request to the department that deals with cancellations. They said they'd email when it was properly cancelled and the email came through about an hour ago. This is it:

Hrmm,

If you told him before that you were waiting for a newer model, I think that explains what he is saying in that e-mail.

He's basically saying, I think "OK, we're glad to cancel this for you. Please feel free to place an order again whenever the updated models come out.".

I don't think I'd really read that as a confirmation of anything (beyond an acknowledgement that at some time in the future there will be updated MacBooks).

I think this is different from them just mysteriously canceling your order for no reason and telling you to place it again when new models come out.

forget the macbook! when's that floating staircase coming out? i gotta get one of those. probably have to wait till macworld 08:rolleyes:

Has anyone just e-mailed Apple and asked them flat out? Maybe they're like hey no one will think to ask because they figure we won't give them an answer... but then we do, and bam! I get hit by a truck and I never ever get to hear the damn announcement. See Steve, I could die tomorrow and you're going to deprive me of the experience of the X3100 chip on the macbook. At least if it's a book I can read the last chapter.
