iLife --> Very nice stuff.

iWorks --> Word processor and presentation tool? That's it? Where is the spreadsheet, the publisher, etc? I guess this can not compete with office as it is now.

iPod Shuffle --> ok. not what I expected, but not as bad either for the price. I can see myself using one. why not?

Mac Mini... cube again? Nice for the price, but if you add the keyboard, mouse, some more memory, the superdrive, and the screen, it is much better to get the iMac G5.

I'm blown away by the Mac Mini - price and looks really good. Hope there are sVideo connectors to hook it up to a TV available. Could be a good media machine.

iPhoto, at last, sub directories support.

I'm sure the iPod shuffle will work for a lot of people.. personally, I'm disappointed by no display. But again, the price is excellent.

Over all, a good keynote - look forward to watching the video.

Mac Mini is gonna be ordered ASAP. I'll hook it up to my TV in my living room and use it as my stereo. I can justify $499 for a stereo. ;) Why no keyboard and mouse though? I'm guessing so they could toss it in a hand lil' box. Heh

iWork 05 seems a little underwhelming. I mean, what? No spreadsheet app? Lame!

iLife 05 might actually make me an iPhoto user!

iPod Shuffle-- will buy one for the gym. Leave the iPod photo at home. :D

So iGav, do you think the new package designs for iWork and iLife absolutely suck? I think they do. Ugly.

That and the weird "organic" shapes on the shuffle's page. What is apple thinking with that stuff?

all in all, A- for steve-o.

Awsesome stuff. Looks like another good year ahead of us for Apple. I wonder if I can get iLife 05' since I just purchased a PM G5 in the past month??

Hopefully we see Powerbook updates soon, and I was happy to see no Powermac revisions since I just bought one.

That mac mini looks cool as h3ll.

awesome!

can't wait to get a hold of the Shuffle..
Mac mini is a little mini on features and specs, but i can see some uses for it. very portable and a good back up computer for home.
i'm getting iWork ASAP!
so dope..

Disappointed but intrigued for possibilities

I'm disappointed in the price without a keyboard and mouse. Apple is making [most likely] their same profit margin or maybe even higher.

If this is essentially an iBook in a box sans battery/keyboard/LCD - then based on the 24% profit of an iBook - this must be a greater margin without the keyboard and mouse.

I am intrigued though to see all the "stackables" that will come out from different companies though.

• Extra drives
• Media readers
• TV Tuners
• Battery packs?
• iPod docks
• Special edition Griffin radio sharks
• Game cube like LCDs

I'm also interested in the mini server opportunity this provides.

i just persuaded my dad the mac minis were perfect for his business. he ordered 20 of them straight away to try beat the rush!

hell yeah! oh and sorry to the other UK customers now having to wait longer :p

the ipod shuffle is lovely and iWork and the new iLife suites look great!

cant wait to get my hands on all those lovely mac minis.

Brilliant!!!

The shuffle, although I wouldn't buy one for myself, will be usefull as a gift item, and will help introduce winhead's to Apple.

The mac-mini is great, I'm buying two as soon as I can find them, and they'll be excellent for getting evryone I know to switch, although the lack of a mic/audio input (from what I can see in the specs) is not a wonderfull ideas.

Well done apple, :)

I have to admit...the imac mini is pretty cool looking, and beside for the weak video card, it is still better that the 12 inch powerbook. At least it will play ut2k4. I am going to get one since they are so cheap for my mom. :)

iPod Shuffle is a near perfect implemlementaion for flash based cheap MP3 player. Put your music there and it's like your personal radio station.
Great idea.

Great updates. Love the Mac Mini - very very cool. Looks like Apple are really going after the pc user market with that and iWork.

Lame

a mini G4, a more mini ipod and some hd ilife...can't wait to stand inline behind my local middle school at the apple store...

no tiger, no G5 updates of any kind, no media hub
apple needs to hire more people...

i think i will buy iwork for pages, glad i did'nt update to office 04

OK lets see,

iLife 05= cool
iWork 05= very cool

iPod Shuffle= I love the way they market a flash mp3 with no screen(i dont think its smart) as spontaneus way to listen to music.

Mac Mini= Good Price and it will get more people to switch but the fact that it includes no keyboard, mouse, has a 32mb graphics card and maxs out at 1gb of ram kinda sucks...but the price is soooo Sweet...its a decent low-end machine

STOLL WAITING FOR PB UPDATES
COME ONE STEVE YOU KNOW WE WANT IT :D

Cool updates. I might just get iLife 05' and a iPod shuff.

lol@the
"Do not eat iPod Shuffle" warning on the Apple's iPod shuffle's webpage.

Appleworks vs. iWork

I'm not so sure that iWork is truly a replacement for Appleworks. Looking at the specs for the new Mac mini (which I will likely be buying when the store is accessable again), it says that it includes Appleworks preinstalled on the system.

I don't like the idea that the memory on the Mac mini is upgradeable by Authorized Apple service folks though, but on the same note, for the target audience of this box, it makes things much simpler.

On a side note, the educational discount on the Mac mini seems to be $20. Not much, but then again, it doesn't cost much to begin with!

There's an extra $20 off for students on that iMac mini. So it's $579 for the higher model. I managed to get into the customization section of the store, looks like they've raised the price of the wireless keyboard/mouse combo to more than for a regular G5's wireless combo? For the mini, you have to order the Bluetooth card separately @$45 or in a bundle w/the airport extreme for $116, and then the wireless kb/mouse is $99 on top of that. Didn't the G5 have a bundle where you'd get the kb/mouse/bluetooth adapter all together for $99? I can't check right now, the store has died.

Oh, and while you're waiting, superdrive is an extra 90, the increase to 512MB is $67 (the increase to 1GB is $382!?!) and the 3-year APP is $99.

Heck, with the price of iLife and iWork both at $79, I might as well just buy a mini mac to get the programs. I'm sure I'd find some use for it... external HD, eh who knows!!!!!

My thoughts overall are awesome! Great stuff and lots of it.

Little bug problem during spotlight - is this a first? I remember Steve having a problem with a digital camera during iPhoto presentation but that was a dead camera battery or something like that.

Where is the replacement to Excel in iWork?

Lots of talk of year of HD. Does iDVD support it. Probably not because no HDDVD burner yet but it must support 16:9??? because iMovie supportd HD. So what do we do shoot in HDV, edit in iMovie, FCP, etc and then compress to standard DVD or playback through camcorder. Just doesn't make a lot of sense. I hope the next Powermac update has a HD-DVD burner and is a US market first.

Powerbook updates? Probably G4 small bump but how soon?

eMac updates? G5 or just G4 and how soon?

Tiger looking good to me because of new Quicktime 7 support in preparation for HD. Not much more gets me too excited though.

Mac mini - perfect for Windows switchers. No DVD burner means I will not be buying one.

iPod Shuffle - I like my 20 GB iPod but I do think it slams that lower market. Way to go Apple.

Mac mini here I come. My iBook G4 is going on eBay asap.

The Mac mini doesn't come with a Keyboard or Mouse does it? Grr. Oh well.

I'll have to get a monitor though...hmm...that shouldn't be a problem per se.

iPod shuffle...eh. I'll stick with my silver iPod mini to match my new Mac mini. :D

iMovie HD, all I can say is..."Fab." :)
