Mine's on the way, too...from SHENZHEN CN...it should be here by the weekend. Well, they say Monday the 6th, but my recent Apple shipments from China have gotten here much quicker than I had expected. I'm happy it's on the way, but I'm bummed for all of those that missed out due to Apple's latest service hiccup.

I would need this to connect my fast CF card reader to rMBP. I just still keep getting "page not found" despite trying different browsers and cleaning caches and whatnot.

Primarily to connect to my Echo Audiofire4 audio interface. I also have some combined USB 2.0/Firewire 400 external hard discs, but power only seems to work well with Firewire (and its a little faster), so will probably use the Firewire interface with them too, when I need to access them.

not sure why people arent buying it. thunderbolt will be around for a long time and i dont see firewire ever completely disappearing from all peripherals. they are cheap and seem like a good little thing to keep in the desk for the future.

Assuming the manager of your local store is savvy enough to order them, and that they'd come direct from China, they're probably going arrive at the stores at about the time the first units shipped to customers land. More likely they'll go in bigger batches to the US distribution center (Sacramento?) and then go to the stores with the rest of the inventory. It isn't like this is a model rollout that Apple has said would be available on a specific date.

TB-FW adapter enroute

I ordered early in the morning on August 1 (yesterday) and received my shipping advisory early this morning. This would indicate that the actual shipping lead time is one day right now. As guessed, it's coming from Shenzen. It's in Honk Kong now and due in Los Angeles on August 7.

Ended up placing my order online tonight instead of waiting for it to come to my local store. Bought the gigE one also for my lemur.

The estimated delivery for FW is Aug 8-9 and the gigE is Aug 10-13. Both listed In Stock.
