Now we know why there was no "Apple Event" to promote these releases. 😴
Tongue in cheekThank god, I'm so tired of my current Apple TV being so damn heavy!
Lame...no ethernet......huh....They cut thread support and Ethernet “for the environment”. Anyone who complains doesn’t care about “the environment”.
Theoretical distance is 100 feet - but you could easily expand the range of your thread network through just a few smart plugs like the Eve Energy units.Question about thread. Does it matter where the Apple TV is placed in the house for it to work well or does it need to be closer to where all the devices are? I have things on both floors.
Had no idea the previous ones had fans at all. Seems like it could have used just a big heat sink and passively cooled them, seeing is they are just iPhone chips which are also passively cooled..
169€ in Germany. 189€ for the 128gb model. Still better than the 219€ I paid recently for last year’s model.Starting at £150 in U.K. Not exactly a generous saving haha.
Just think of how many Mark Gruman predictions didn't work out today. Now we know why there was no "Apple Event" to promote these releases. 😴
Also the lack of fans may change the direction in which the earth is spinning!Haha yeah the weight, we need to save the earth by not making the AppleTV so darned heavy! The current model could affect the earth’s orbit.
Yes ut is very impirant for apple green washing, you see when you ship millions of devices worldwide these grans an inches add up rather swiftly, the summary say 25% redyvrion in carbon footprint, which looks really nice on the yearly green report ( whatever it's called)50% less weight is a very important feature for a device that is 100% of its lifetime sitting on a sideboard, totally worth to mention it prominently on the headline.
Less weight means it requires less fuel to ship it here.50% less weight is a very important feature for a device that is 100% of its lifetime sitting on a sideboard, totally worth to mention it prominently on the headline.
$20 seeIts $30 cost extra to have an ethernet port for this type of device? Unbelievable.
Do you walk around with it in your pocket or something. I would imagine most people just leave it somewhere near the TV.Thank god, I'm so tired of my current Apple TV being so damn heavy!
thank god, now finally fits in my pockets, due to decreased thickness, instant buyDo you walk around with it in your pocket or something. I would imagine most people just leave it somewhere near the TV.
Wrong, air intake/exit on the bottom, large cutouts.I didn’t either. To be honest WHERE is the air intake and exit on any ATV (in black)?! They’re sealed right?
Which would be the motivation for releasing a minor phone hardware update each year, that is intentionally designed to not be user serviceable for something as simple as replacing the battery. Apparently the environment only matters when Apple decides it does.Less weight means it requires less fuel to ship it here.
This isn't just about a product once it gets to you. It's about the environmental cost to produce it, to package it, to ship it, and to run it.
When you ship millions of products, as Apple does, that adds up quickly to thousands of gallons of fuel not burned and put into our atmosphere.
They're probably using only a single NAND chip (like the 256GB MacBooks of this year) which saves money and reduces performance in half.Only $20 for an extra 64Gb of storage - since when has Apple ever priced storage that cheaply?!
Storage for what? I stream stuff off the internet. (serious question...not being rude)$20 see
