Stickers? Noooooo. I mean, if you want get rid of waste, there’s a spot right there. Although I think they’ve stopped now haven’t they? Please say they have….
They really don't have manuals either these days, just a warranty statement and a basic instruction on starting the device. They just expect you'll go to the internet for any further instruction.

Good for you, not everyone does.
I welcome a reduction in price and the possibility of ordering a cable in the box, but in our modern world most people own multiple devices, most of which usb-c.

I'm not trying to be an apple apologist; I'm especially angry with their preposterous price increases in Europe.

As of the 13 Pro anyway they still did. Don’t know about the 14. I’m sure it’s next on the chopping block.

Honestly that’s ok with me I guess, but I do still hope they include them with computers.

to bad it does t support wireless charging. just at set it on a wireless charging pad when not in use then pick it up. it would make for a natural and seamless charging experience for users.

99.9% of people that buy an Apple TV have at least 1 other Apple device (eg iPhone or iPad). These devices ship with a cable in the box already. Removing the cable is probably one of the ways they were able to drop the price.

Therefore, most users, including myself appreciate the price drop and don’t have a need for a redundant cable. For the very few that need the cable, buy it, you can more than afford it since you bought the device itself at a discount now.

It’s the only Apple device that does not benefit from a move to USB-C. It doesn’t transfer data and it doesn’t take long to charge.

The mind boggles with these releases yesterday. It's an insane decision not to include a cable to charge the remote. Next they'll just release it with no ports to force you to buy a new one every time like a set of AA batteries. I'm about to buy this thing for my technologically challenged father, but it'll confuse the hell out of him since the brand new iPhone I had to buy him still uses Lightning and I'll be damned if he understands the difference between Lightning and USB C. He'll ask why it's so complicated to charge a remote and will inevitably lose the newly provided USB C cable in a few months because he doesn't use it with anything else. Personal rant over.

Anyway, on a forward looking platform side - USB C here - thumbs up. They're starting the transition for accessories from Lightning to USB C.

On the other hand, that 'flawed from inception' Apple Pencil 1 still with Lightning and a bunch of dongles! It's as if they're actively encouraging users to buy the Logitech Crayon instead.

If you visit him more than twice a year (assumption), you could charge it for him? I used to take care of those things for my mother. Almost a checklist of what to do when I got there. Now I spend an hour convincing her who I am.

So now we know how the USB-C iPhone (if they don’t have the courage to go entirely portless) will ship.

In the box: iPhone. That is all.

No manuals, no stickers, no cables, no nothing.

I personally wouldn’t mind. My belkin charger would still work, and I haven’t touched the cables in my last few purchases (latest being the AirPods Pro).

Omitting the charging cable is the cherry on top of complete crap design. None of these minimal remotes is worth a damn, and Apple's are among the worst. The best thing about my 4th gen Apple TV is I can use my Sony RM-VL610 universal remote for most functions, a remote that uses AA or AAA batteries. I really don't remember which, as it's been years since I've had to change them.

So Apple now copied Sony.
Trillion dollar company still cutting corners on a $130 product. Is chasing revenue for this quarter that bad Tim?
They reduced the price by substantially more than the cost of the missing cable. Don’t you read before you assume?
Help me out here. Does your cable work on any of these devices?

So, to "save the environment", I'd need to do the following:

Buy a Mac/PC with USB-C
Wait for Airpods Pro to have a USB-C adapter
Buy a new Apple TV 4K
Wait for iPhone to have a USB-C port
Buy a new iPad

Great, thanks for clearing that up.
First, all the pictures are kind of illustrating the point.
Second, nothing will change with any of these devices, the EU isn’t changing the charging ports on a device you own.
Third, it’s about long term reduction of cable waste- not about helping you carry less cables - although that’s a beneficial side affect.

That’s pretty subjective. I say you're wrong.

Sometimes i'm really surprised by people like you, that fail to see any problems due to their blind love for a company. Doesnt matter if you have iPad, iPhone, iMac, Macbook or you have a god damn factory in your backyard that produces USB-C cables, seller MUST provide you a cable for charging a device that you bought.

I wont be surprised if somebody brings Apple to court for this due them selling a product that you have no way of charging.

It will happen since I don’t own any USB-C devices.

Look I love Apple but they can be major hypocrites too.

Apple doesn’t base all its decisions on you personally. I was speaking not about your case but the general case because that’s what this whole USB C standard thing is about. The overall population.

This is mostly to prevent many seniors from opening the box and trying to plug the remote into the Apple TV.
