I am used for apple to being greedy, but to their credit they finally gave us an usb C port, and chances are that people already have one today anyway. I rather have a USB-C port with no charging cable (as I already have many) rather than an included lightning cable with a lightning port
Exactly, you can't have it both ways. Everyone wants to bitch that apple should move everything to USB-C because everyone already has a USB-C cable. So apple doesn't include the cable that "everyone already has" and it's the end of the world?

As long as they tell you what you're getting, I don't see the issue. Some products include batteries and some don't. Nothing new here. Just do your research, buy what you need, stop complaining, and enjoy using the product.

Edit: if this comment makes you "angry" then you have issues. Wow.

Good riddance to the included cable. What a waste.

I have a drawer full. I'll take a less expensive ATV vs paying more for an included cable I (and I suspect most people) don't need.

And if you need one? They're plentiful and cheap. Don't make me pay for a cable I don't need.

Good job, Apple!!

I mean it's USB-C, if you get an Apple TV with a USB-C remote and you don't have a single USB-C cable to charge it with, there is a bigger problem...lol
The only reason I have such a cord on hand is because I already own an iPad Pro. Otherwise with every other Apple product that isn't a Macbook requiring Lightning, why would you expect others to have a USB-C cable laying around?

Downvote me all you want, but it makes sense. I have the old Siri Remote (thin one) and I only charge it like three times a year? The new one has a much bigger battery, so the average person would probably only have to charge it twice (or even once if they tend to use their phone as a remote often) a year. Paired with the fact that it has a common port, that most people have at least one USB-C cable in their homes at this point, and that these remotes charge to full in like 30 minutes, and it makes sense why you'd remove it. I'd even say it's a waste of a cable.

I'll be awaiting your "Apple Sheep" and adjacent replies.

I'm with you! And I'd say the same thing about ANY company's product, not just Apple's.
