has anyone ever seen NeroLIV and appleisgod in the same room at the same time? Just sayin...

Doesn't Apple typically limit sales of major new products to its stores only? Not saying that it couldn't happen but I'd be mildly surprised if Apple was selling the iPad at Best Buys at launch.

that's actually a fairly smart response to all of these rumors.

though I would think the iPad would appear in best buy's inventory similar to an iPod or iPhone.

Within RSS (Best Buy's inventory system), you can search specific categories. I'm quite sure he went Computers > Mobile Computing > Apple Notebooks. I do not think that they'd place the iPad within this category, but I suppose it's a possibility (albeit small).

One would think that Apple would have a vested interest in making sure these SKUs appear as close to release as possible. Perhaps the last time when BB had the SKUs weeks in advance didn't go over so well with Steve and Co.

I'm still betting on the longshot, Tuesday the 16th. :)

Not getting my hopes up here. If they don't come out tomorrow then there is always next week and the week after. I am done getting excited only to be disappointed. Not anymore!

A lot of guys are reporting 3,5 or 6 new SKUs at their workplaces. Makes it hard to even guess what's going to happen now. Maybe just stock managers trying to use their best guess..

New SKUs come from corporate. There is absolutely no creation of SKUs on a local or even semi-local level.

3 WEEKS! I thought you were on the 23rds bandwagon earlier!?!? Have you jettisoned yourself? March 2nd means that you have started to lose all hope! We're all getting pretty tired on this battlefield of waiting on this technology release threshold.

I am pushing back. The closer we get to the 23rd with no significant signs pointing to that date makes it less and less likely. I'll admit there still is a good chance of a 23rd release, but March 2nd is looking more likely to me.

If I keep pushing back, I'll surely be right sometime.

NeroLIV, do you know if BB would bother adding new SKUs for the Mac Pro, considering they don't carry it in retail stores? :p

They do carry them in stores just not every store.

Also, checked the creation date on the SKU and it is 1-19-10. All 3 have a price of $1999.99 so that you cant figure out which model its referring to.

Then how do you explain the inconsistencies in name and # of SKUs across stores?

There are different types of stores.

For instance, I worked at two different Sears locations (Columbia, South Carolina and Florence, Alabama). One was a type "A" store layout (for electronics, specifically) and one was a type "C" store layout.

Given the SKU for a 15" MBP is 57/54666 (which I believe is actually a Samsung 32" TV, but whatever) then it will be 57/54666 in every since Sears store. Every store may not sell that certain model, but that TV won't have a different SKU.

Also, before someone calls me an idiot, this is not my stores info in the pic, just a random bestbuy that happens to carry mac.

Sad that the forums have degraded to such a point that OP's feel the need to postscript their comments from the get-go with a request to not be called an idiot.

Okay I'm not going to get excited. . . We've been through this before.

I'm going to wake up tomorrow and NOT expect anything so that I won't feel like a jerk. Guys we've been here already :(

Yeah, I've also given up on waiting for the update.

Something in my psyche literally snapped from all the anticipation for the past month until now I literally just don't care anymore. I'll get excited again when it actually happens. Until then, screw it.

I agree with Clete2, the way BestBuy works is very similar to Sears, BestBuy goes by "size" of store depending on how much revenue they bring in. Stores are different but the SKUs of products should stay the same throughout.

Dont hold me to this, but I believe that worstbuy only carries the base 13, 15, and 17 inch MBPs, I dont think they carry all SKUs

Wrong. Best Buy carries every single mac laptop, and desktop (with the exception of the i7 Imac). I sure hope that the refresh comes this tuesday! And typically, Best Buy wont get the new macbooks in for about a week after they have been announced

Could these SKUs refer to the iPads?

Probably not...the bottom one (9611541), is more than likely the iPad. Notice the Macbook Airs below it, they have the title "/A Air". This may be for the ultra mobile series of Apple computing devices. It is likely that the upper three, like many have said, represent the 13, 15, 17 MBP's, respectively. Either way, there is a difference between the upper 3 dummy sku's and the bottom one dummy sku. Which means in theory, 2 new devices. ;)

I don't think Apple would compromise the sales of the iPad by releasing new MBPs during the iPad launch in March. My vote is for a later release of the MBPs.

The feeling that someone would if the OP hadn't said that, or that people calling others idiots aren't picked up on?
