Nice simple design (the first one), but i still question the practicality, necessity, and functionality of something that small.

Just going based on aesthetics, the one featured with the brown bands look nice enough that I might even wear one. (I'm very picky when it comes to watches)

I could see myself buying something like that:

Just need to make sure the battery life is sufficient.

I can't see myself buying something like that when everyone else is buying the same thing. Imagine everyone wearing the same looking watch (possibly with different color straps).

That's why I think the iWatch shouldn't look like a watch. It should be a band. And the rumor's suggesting that apple's "watch" will be heavily focused on health. Then it makes more sense bearing a fitness band-like design.

First one looks great, maybe a tad larger in diameter (but I'm a guy). Hopefully we would be able to change the band.

2nd one looks aesthetically too close to current (and tacky) watches. Nothing is unique about the design (except display), and it reeks of Invicta. I hope there aren't buttons on the side.

I like this design and they can make the rim/she'll of the round watch the button where u can turn it to navigate the menu (it would also have touch screen ) and it could also click in would be so amazing .

All these concepts of the iWatch remind me of that iPod with the phone wheel that Jobs jokingly showed just before unveiling the iPhone.

You miss the point that this first and foremost HAS to pass muster as a fashion item. Sorry geeks, but if this has every great feature on everyone's dream list, but looks like ass, it will fail. On the other hand, if it only does 2 or 3 things really well AND looks amazing, (but is capable of growing in functionality) it could be a hit.
The iPhone was really short of features when it launched, but did what it did well and looked cool.

But I REALLY hope they go with round. I've never seen a square watch that anyone with any self respect would wear in public.

I agree, and I'll take this idea a bit further.
Despite making a Amazing looking watch that does a few major things really well in an Apple kinda way, it will still be hard to be a hit as did the iPhone. And its is because the designs we're seeing are falling prey to the idea that it has to be a "fashionable" watch in the conventional sense. Fashion is a whole new can of worms, a Pandora box that I believe Apple should not open.

A watch is different from a phone. The perception of a phone started out as a necessity home appliance. Adding style to that with the great ease of use (iphone 2007) was a great hit to the masses. The Nest is another great example.

However, the perception and "need" for a watch is different. Even if Apple collaborated with the likes of Rolex or even higher end watch makers would it appeal to every age, gender, fashion sense the way the iPhone does? Would everyone want to be wearing a watch that everyone else is wearing? In fact, some may not mind. But that's precisely the point, the perception and need of a fashion item differs greatly among different groups of people.

Although the watch is not quite like buying clothes, it definitely is more of a fashion item than a phone is.

IMO, Apple will either have to approach this like every other watch manufacture by designing "many" different designs (does not quite match the DNA of Apple). Or, forget the idea of a watch in the tradition/conventional sense. And doing this either requires Apple somehow coming up with a wearable device in a completely new sense, or approach it like a fitness band.

Stupid idea.

Just taking something that already exists without changing the core design but trying to fit in new technology to magically work together is wrong.

Whatever. Maybe some people wouldn't mind having a watch with some advanced funtionality that looks nice — that you could wear without looking like you stepped out of Tron.

if watches are so cool why aren't you currently wearing one lol. I will not subscribe to this idea unless they do something that my phone does not. And my heart rate does not count.
I'm wearing one right now. It does one thing, does it well, and I can glance at it even if both hands are occupied.

Bingo. And the reason no non-douche wears a bluetooth headset around in public. It may be functional and "nerd-cool" — but if you look like you've been assimilated by the Borg, forget it.

APPLE CLICK WHEEL integrated into the bezel. iPods of the watch market.
I should work for Apple haha.
Giving my ideas away for free......

iPad with integrated apple tv hdmi out. Ect ect

It looks fine, but I think it's missing a killer app right now.

The original iPhone had Safari as a killer app - there wasn't any other phone that was able to browser the web as effortlessly as the iPhone could with Safari.

Macs have iLife as their killer app - most PCs have nothing like it out of the box, and those that have anything are really halfassed.

iPad... I'm not sure what it had. I guess it had the app store?

People keep talking about the iWatch having health sensors and stuff like that, but that really doesn't sound like a killer app to me. It sounds too boring to be a killer app.

Maybe if you can use it as a payment method... or if it becomes the most amazing mapping solution ever (for navigating cities you're unfamiliar with by foot or bike), that could work.

During the iPad Keynote they focused a ton of time on iBooks and the iBookstore.

lol, I think anyone with any self respect isn't vain enough to care about how they appear to others in public. :D
