Also in this part the apple logo is cut out... which says to me that there may be a glow on the back through the Black glass like the Macbooks. Nice.

Sim Slot on the side.
Can see the camera.
Can't see a Flash
These might be related. Perhaps the Apple logo will be the flash. That might work the more I think about it.

There's probably no room for the radios, which means they'd have to put it at the bottom and then boom, they've made the first-gen iPhone all over again.

Not going to happen.
You know, I'd be OK with that. I still believe the original iPhone design was the best (granted, we've only seen two designs, but still). I love the original iPhone design.

I really don't think this is the new iPhone. Why would they go with something thicker and boxer than they have? They could easily have put the stickers on there to make it look like the new iPhone.

The only people who know these are fakes are the ones that know what the real thing is. We are all speculating one way or the other.

Like some have said, looks don't make a phone, the software does. That's why the iPhone has been so successful. Not because it's the prettiest phone, but because the software works so well.

Real or not, it will sell incredibly well not because of how it looks, but because of how it functions.

Apple take removable batteries out of laptops, don't put removable battery in the iPad and you expect on in the new iPhone.... dream on

As I said it's a Directive I read about... Not 100% Couldn't find any newer info though.

Although it would be nice - but I've never had a problem really charges in <1 hour and pretty much everywhere has some way to charge an ipod!

I really don't like the design either but it did occur to me that this MIGHT be a CDMA version for Verizon. I thought I read somewhere that the hardware for CDMA is a little bulkier than GSM and the current iPhone form wouldn't be able to accommodate the components.

So...maybe a CDMA version?

Still, I agree that it looks Nokia-ish.

Didn't see the point of posting in the Japaneese counterfeit thread because this is a prototype that ran iPhone OS. Don't know a fake in the world that can be blanked by Infinite Loop remotely.

Oh, I wasn't saying the original iPhone looked bad, simply that Apple don't tend to move backwards with their designs. They either stand still or move forward.

My bet - triple bluff by Apple; neither the iPad shot nor these new ones are representative of the final design. Just like the iPad price rumor, Apple is seeding the fanatics to drive discussion in a direction that makes the real solution look even more spectacular.

Seems very unlikely they'll step away from the contoured shape. So if they stick to their recent aluminum fetish, I reckon they'll use a cold forming process combined with machining and laser cutting.

In fact, I'd bet £10 on it ;)

I really don't care if they are real or not...I trust Apple to make an attractive iPhone.

I dunno they do make the rare mistake. For example, the squat-looking iPod nano was pretty bad in both design and the colors offered. The eMac was pretty ugly too.
