Whatever it will be, it requires alot more "electricity" than a normal "concert".

The SFPD cordoned off the grassy hill (just visible with a concrete wall on the left), and they were regrassing/watering this dried out patch just this morning (and obviously kicked this guy off it). They were also washing down (which I thought was currently illegal due to the Cali drought situation - but once again, "$$$ talks") the front entrance of the auditorium.

Most of those generators are for the A/C units.
Not sure if you've ever been to any concerts there but I've been to a bunch and it gets very hot inside that building.

That and it's old. You need extra amperage for the A/V equipment being used for this event.

They hold concerts at this location, so a full public launch of Apple Music with a full concert with a handful of artist.

I hope it's more, like a huge surprise, but my hunch is its all just Apple Music related.
I agree. As Apple slowly migrates away from its original core business, it's now all about consumer entertainment. This facility will help Apple reshape it's business into the image they want to present to consumers and Hollywood

I've been to many a concert at the Civic Center, and they never use AC. You know, so that the interior gets so hot inside that you're willing to pay the $7 for the 6oz of coca-cola on (a lot of) ice.

Oh I agree but for this event they don't want people getting hot and there won't be food served because "Adams and associates" didn't get a Dept. of Health permit.
