New, Fun Products Next Week?

Yep, good old Apple is playing with our hungry little minds once again...

So what else is new?

this is a list of things that i think will most likely be released
1) ipod shuffle
2) ibook with intel
3) video ipod
4) ipod accessories

i think that the ibook will be released because apple wants to get it out as soon as possible so they will have a sufficient amount in stock when kids are buying new computer for going back to school. and the shuffle seems like it will be released because it is the only model in the ipod line up that hasn't been given any real attention to in a while. but who knows... it better be good because if it's jus ipod accessories and no ibook, then a lot of people are going to be pissed.

or the journalists could regard a 16-way intel-based 4 proc quad core xserve as fun. which i would too...

You can dream of such things happening on the 28th, but it would only be a dream.

I'm thinking this is some of the stuff that Apple wanted to announce at Macworld in Jan but was unable to. Additionally I think it might be an iBook as Apple would want to reach volume production before the Back to School season.

Yeah, but would the iBooks be considered "fun"? Tough to say. They are definitely due for an update, but this event could easily just be for the Mac mini, something iPod-related, etc. Or all of the above - perhaps Apple will release a slew of new products just to wow everyone!

No on everything except #4. We may see that "red iPod" to fight AIDS. Other than that, no ibook announcements yet. TS and AppleInsider are in agreement that it isn't going to happen for another month or two.

No, only the members who are naive, have unrealistic expectations and don't understand the concept of a "rumor" will be disappointed. Although there always seems to be a lot of them no matter how many times we go through these things...

As a matter of fact, I will be going camping in a few days. But I'm still too curious to shield my eyes from the rumors.

As far as "fun" goes, nothing made by Apple is more fun than PhotoBooth, so obviously the announcement will be for PhotoBooth II, a version that works on all Mac models, even if you don't own a camera!

It will have to be Music/Video/Home entertainment stuff.

If you sit in front of a mac all day making a living with it, then professional macs will not be considered as "Fun New Stuff"
This is obviously for the amateur market.
Maybe it will be the MacBook Amateur...

Well, something "fun", huh? That immediately makes me think of either iPods (they could be due for a refresh) or something multimedia rerlated. This lends itself to the possibility of some combination of Intel Mac mini/VIIV/Front Row 2.0/DVR/Home entertainment solution. Which of those it might be, on their own or in combination, remains to be seen.

Regardless, only 1 week until we find out!

My thoughts exactly. Has to be iPod related and I'm puttting the mini media center as an outside chance.

I like it! A camera that's built into the display - literally - right behind the LCD itself!

yeah... last week I went snowboarding and ended up browsing the internet with my friend's 3G wireless connection in the middle of the mountain... I guess I also should leave the computer home

I'm excited and a little upset about this. The 28th is my Birthday, and I didn't get my invitation. Maybe I'll get my present a few days late care of Apple!
