In other words remain hopeful. It looks like the entire lineup is about to be revved so maybe the case vendors are off balance. It is also highly likely that any new device is being held close to the chest. Apple simply isn't going to help the case manufactures with new profile devices.

If the tablet rumors are true , that Apple is taking delivery of Wintek 10" touch screens in the 3rd Q 2009 (about now), would they then sit on that inventory until 1st Q 2010 to launch a tablet? There's something very weird going on here. Maybe there will be a tablet launch next week or Oct. but 2010 seems too far away.

You are making an huge assumption that the next Nano won't have WiFi. WiFi is a possibility especially if they move iPhone OS to the platform. Nano could be refactored as a mini Touch hybrid.

Every iPod comes with some sort of USB connection. What is that used for besides charging?

Have you considered video out? Many cameras allow you to directly drive HDTVs the is no reason the Nano couldn't do so also. People do use this feature.

Maybe Apple will expand the use of SD cards. Seriously it is the standard for consummer cameras. Sure on iPod this is departure from the current arraingement, but Apple could limit access to the card just to camera jpegs and keep the rest of the system secure. Obviously Apple has a plan for SD, maybe this is it.

Bluetooth.

6.
A high resolution screen for sharing pics.


Without even trying that is a half dozen ways to avoid your frustrations. So where you serious or not?

why would you have a wifi nano when you can just get the itouch?? I am just saying that the nano should stay simple and market to those that don't want itouch features
 
i can understand why the touch should get a camera but the nano to have a camera?? Like someone already mentioned... what cell phone doesn't come with a camera now days? And who doesn't have a cell phone. What are the chances of having your nano ipod without having your cell phone?
 
It always amazes me how ignorant and self-centered people can be, especially on the internet. Just because you don't want a camera on an ipod, doesn't mean everyone else doesn't either. I imagine very soon in the future, digital cameras will be so cheap that everything will have a camera. Your ipod... your watch... your sunglasses???

No iphone here. My verizon phone has a camera, but verizon makes everything so difficult and expensive to use, that I don't even bother using it for pics, music, etc.

I'm going for broke on 9/9/09. I'm selling my ipod touch and my old nano. I'm gonna pick up a 32GB nano with a camera.

I guess I am just playing devils advocate here... i like to hear both sides of the story... you know the pros and cons... honestly i can care less if they have cameras or not. I just like to hear what people have to say. I have an iphone so i don't need anything else.

I won't even bring up film, which was a pre-digital type of polymer strip coated with a light-sensitive emulsion that could be chemically developed and printed to special paper. Then you could show the results--they were called "photos"--to your friends and family. Of course, you would have to do this in person.
 
Lets hope the ads wont be as chessy as the "TMobile my touch". whoopi and the other guy with the video I can handle, but the guy with the tattoo kissing the other guy along with the chessy music just makes me hate the ad even more

Palm Pre is alreight, kind of creepy andn doesnt make sense

Probably for people who don't want to lug around ANOTHER device.
Apple can't seem to win. They release SL with few new features (but lots of performance/size/future direction improvements), and they get slammed for not having enough pizzazz (here), and on the other, slammed for including new features, like a camera on the iPod.

Hope they don't watch tech blogs for direction.

No offense, my friend, but this is hilarious!

This reminds me of people who get overly accustomed to the electronic door locks on their cars. We had a neighbor whose battery died in her car lock remote and she didn't know what to do until someone pointed out that she could still use the key. :rolleyes:
 
For everyone wondering why they're putting cameras in the iPods now:

Simply, people aren't buying iPods anymore. Adding new features, useful or not, is an easy way to spur people to buy new ones.
 
I'm really looking forward to some kind of Ipod Nano sized ipod touch with 32gb of capacity it would be perfect for my needs, i don't care about the camera personally, i have enough cameras already.
 
Camera... Flash?? Apple Running Out Of Ideas?

is it me or does anyone agree that Apple is running out of ideas? ;) Camera on everything? :eek: would like to see a large screen for iPod classic with scrolling touchable screen :) (i.e. like on the ipod touch when you can scroll up and down on the songs?) cameras seem lame and won't be wasting my money might just save up for a unibody macbook pro when they up the specs.. although looking forward to iTunes 9 and hoping to see native DVD ripping within iTunes :D x :D
