I ordered my new ibook 12" on the 28th, and It's supposed to be here August 1st however, mine is shipping directly from PA. No China buisness at all.

did you order stock?

I love FedEx! I ordered a PowerMac G5 from MacMall on Wednesday Afternoon, paid for FedEx Economy 2 day (between 50 and 60 dollars cheaper than standard overnight), and behold on Thursday I got a knock at the door and It was FedEx so it took less than 24hrs from the time I placed my order to when it was delivered.

Now that's Customer Service!!

--Also had something else delivered from them Today, and it wasn't picked up from them until 4am this morning, but It was delivered to me before 1pm. The driver chatted with me for about 5 minutes today asking me how the G5 was.

meh. this is a joke. on apples site now it isnt even giving me a tracking number for TNT. i guess it will just get to me when it does. just v annoying. why could FedEx not deliver it to me???

Did you use the free shipping or express? I paid for the express because it was only $18.

Hmm, bit confused here too. Ordered my shiny new 12" iBook (BTO w/60GB HD) Thursday, order status said 'processing' until last night when it changed to 'preparing shipment' then almost instantly to 'shipped'.

I expected it to go to manufacturing first. Got an e-mail confirming today but it says delivery should be in 6-7 business days :(

I got a delivery reference number in the e-mail, but I don't know if I can use it to track the shipment? Anyone else in the UK been able to track where their new iBook/Mac Mini is?

I spoke with customer service supervisors at both Apple and FedEx today (I didn't ask to speak with them, but was transfered to them). Both came back after significant hold times and said that the division of FedEx handling the Apple containers to and from the US from China is open only on weekdays. However, the direct number for that division is 800-455-4588. They recommended I call on Monday.

Good luck to everyone else.

Does that mean nothing goes through on weekends? I hope that explains why my iBook is still in their facility after 3 days.

Alright, i'm hoping the hold up isn't much longer, it seems pretty odd that they'd have to keep my package for more than 3 days.

Honestly, I wouldn't necessarily trust the shipping info. It seems as if there is some lag in all of this. I would suspect we'll all have a better idea of where we sit come Monday morning.

Mine's shipped and I'm patiently waiting for it as well. Honestly I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to hit reload every 30 seconds on the tracking info.

Quite a long shipping times, as it seems. I thought shipping would take 3-5 days after completing the payment! My payment got confirmed in 29th, product shipped today (30th) but my Shipment notification says "The expected delivery time for your order is 5 - 6 days." which indeed sucks. 1-2 days +1 days more shows that apple is indeed battling with quite a demand right now.

Oh well, if it is due to be shipped in next Friday or Saturday it suits me just fine. I usually work long days except on friday anyway.

my iBook is still in Shanghai and has been for 2 days now... I guess we will see whats going on come monday

Good to hear i'm not alone. Your EST too, so we'll see come later tomorrow.

Is this at all normal?

My iPod left Shanghai last Wednesday, went to the Phillipines then to Alaska then to Indiana now it's in Memphis. This would be pretty logical if I lived in Florida, but I don't. I live in Idaho at pretty much the opposite end of the country... WTF is going on?

How can you see where your iBook is now? I can only see the order status...

If it was shipped you should see a tracking number on the order status page. Click on that and it brings up the tracking information.
