I wonder how late the status can change to shipped and still get out late in the day?

You got the expedited shipping right?
yeah, overnight, which is apple code for a week. :( then again my 3rd part memory isn't doing much better. first newegg sent to 3rd party and cancelled my order no stock, then Tiger has now sent it to a third party shipper. Customer service ain't what it used to me ....

(why do I have a mental image of a bunch of lazy Californian's sitting around smoking pot in the back of the apple warehouse?)

Mine still says preparing for shipment but I now have a tracking number through FedEx mobile app....
Shows delivery tomorrow......fingers crossed! :)

I'm in the same boat. It is supposed to be here tomorrow before noon, hasn't shipped yet. Except all three 32GB sets of memory from Amazon have shown up well before the iMac.

Well, while chatting online with an Apple rep about the status of my order, ANOTHER Apple rep called to confirm that I was indeed the one authorizing my purchase. Once confirmed and he ran my card, he said it should change from "processing" to "getting ready for shipment".

As of yet, my status is still "processing".

I should note that I never gave any cc info during our conversation.

Is it standard procedure for apple to call everyone and confirm their purchases? I don't remember being called 3 years ago when I purchased my late 2012 iMac

I was kind of surprised myself. I only remember being called one other time to verify a purchase from Wacom. I did use an account that hasn't been used for any purchases until now. Maybe that set off a red flag?

I just spoke with someone at Apple. They said they were going to do an "induction" of my order which means someone will review it in the next hour and it will be shipped within 24 hours. They also said my order is coming from Califonia (it's a BTO).

Order on the 15th fully maxed 27" iMac without the Apple Ram. Mine was just shipped a bit ago it will be here Thursday from what I can tell.

Still processing here, but I just called and they upgraded me to Next Day Shipping for free!

Can't promise you'll be able to replicate the same—I was just nice, but didn't even ask him to do it—but wow, awesome.

Well after 3 times confirming everything was perfectly on track to deliver the 19th- 21st, got a delay notice this morning. Txt chatted to complain and got nonsense reasons back...

So today my bank got credited $3200 back from apple. I contacted apple again for the 5th time and they said everything is ok and they got authorization on the 16th. They asked me if I contacted my bank to find out why. Isn't that for them to figure out??? She insisted everything is perfectly on track for delivery 23-24th. Hummm. Should I believe them??!!

I ordered this 7am on the 13th in Phoenix AZ...

Not the best experience on my first mac purchase.. Again they are setting the expectations and not delivering..
